Re: Gear Trading Thread

Have: Kurzweil PC3K6

Want: Kurzweil PC3K7 or maybe a PC3 (76-key model)

Trade, +/- cash as needed. I'm in NYC. My PC3K6 is in mint condition, working perfectly, original box. Contact me via PM to discuss details and for my references. Thanks!

Re: Your thoughts about rompler synthesis

Just wondering if anyone in this thread can tell me how many angels can dance on the head of a pin whilst accompanied by the Angelic Choir patch on my Kurzweil?

Re: Your thoughts about rompler synthesis

+ 1 to this. Thank you, balma, for the detailed description of what these underestimated machines can do! If you haven't read his full post, go back and do so. The only synth I still miss, out of all the synths I've loved and sold. Time to cruise ebay. After 6-7 years, I still in love with the comma...

Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread

I bought a Blofeld and Evolver from kirlian. He's a great guy to do business with. The synths were incredibly well-packed, and shipped quickly. Easy communication and transaction. Thanks!

Re: Question RE Micron effects: Programs vs Parts in a Setup

IIRC the effects channels are per voice... Thanks. So then would the effects architecture, in a Setup, look like this? Setup X: Part 1 > Program XYZ > FX1 & FX2 > Setup Master Bus Part 2.... Part 3... etc. >>>> Setup Master Bus > Master FX > Out Which would allow a delay effect in a part, and a rev...

Question RE Micron effects: Programs vs Parts in a Setup

I'm considering picking up one of the spiffy new blue-trim Microns. Can anyone who owns a Micron answer a question about effects: when Programs are used as a Part in a Setup, do they lose their two effects slots and become limited to the Setup effects architecture? For example: I create a Program th...

I would! Judging by the online vapor-specs... it's my dream synth. :D I can be patient. Very patient.

Re: John Carpenter appreciation thread

Ah, didn't realize that so many of those were lame re-workings of the original. Maybe try searching for the individual soundtrack you're looking for? POD: http://www.amazon.com/Prince-Darkness-Original-Soundtrack/dp/B00001ZT6E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1229474322&sr=1-1 Halloween: http://www.am...

Re: John Carpenter appreciation thread

I wish I could find a kind of Best Of album comprised of the originals and that is not replayed by some random techno band, because I don't really want to buy all the soundtracks, and all I can find is compilations of covers by other people. Any help? Is this what you're looking for? http://www.ama...

Re: John Carpenter appreciation thread

Awesome information, Micke! Thank you. Great thread

John Carpenter and the POD score are what inspired me to get into synths, and film/TV scoring. Huge influence to this day.

Cheers

The fact of the matter is, ANY digital synth with enough PCM samples per voice (let's say 4) is a good pad synth . It just depends what sound quality you are going for and how much you want to spend. Good point. My Roland XV-5080 layers really well with other synths, especially VA type gear, and gi...

I'm sorry, but with such fantastic, complete '80s collection, you MUST NOT sell the D-550. It would be wrong to break up the family.

My goodness! A cruise! You should be ALL SET with that MKS.

Jeez, if I took my wife on a cruise, a Jupiter 8 would only be the BEGINNING.

I always find that a well-timed and very thoughtful gift for the lady helps smooth over new gear purchases. You just have to think strategically and tactically. One important thing: the new gear must remain hidden away in its box until the lady's gift arrives. Then make sure she receives her gift 2-...
