Re: What's the must realistic Subtractive/VA VST synth you k
I'll stick my neck out here and say I've got some fantastic sounds out of Applied Acoustic Systems' Ultra Analog VA-1. Particularly buttery Oberheim-ish brass pads, and some very usable stringer patches. Viz: Ultra Analog demo http://www.clubbedtodeath.net/mp3/ultraanalog.mp3 Cheers +1 I think it's...

Re: Lost Synth Sounds

Re: Achieve classic 80's synth sounds with my axiom and mac?
For 80's stuff (any stuff really) then if you have the coin then Omnisphere is incredible.
If not then Korg Legacy is very good.

Re: Is It Just Me?
Vintage synths are too rich for me now and take up too much room, I'm happy with a laptop and a controller. I'm glad there are folk that will pay the money to have them and will pay for their upkeep so that they'll always be around (got to be a fair few sounds that are now lost to the world as there...

Re: GForce impOSCar 2
Looks amazing, but I read that it'll only work with the Imp2, can't use it for any other plug-in.

Re: Roland Fantoms
I have the X8 with the SRX-11 Piano card, the default piano sounds are a bit naff but with the expansion they're really lovely. I don't really bother much with the other sounds on the machine as it's used more as a MIDI controller, but I often come back to the piano and orchestra sounds on it as I'v...

Re: Vangelis synthvideo
I think he's fantastic, can listen to him noodling all day long. Those lovely soundscapes he creates off the cuff like that are just sublime.
