Re: one line synth reviews

jdxi - i hate how you look. i love what you can do. toy-ish? perhaps. yet, you pack a lot of features.

Can you send me his contact address? I'm very willing to pay for the domain's registration and hosting to keep it online.

oh mama. please list the REAL bugs. I get so sick of these silly claims. There are a few minor annoyances that I know of. Same for any synth.

Re: Waldorf Q Phoenix vs. Access Virus TI -HELP!

I started looking for the higher levels of polys out there, i.e. Andy, Virus TI, and Waldorf Q Pheonix. I have read many reviews of the Andy being one amazing synth, perpetually plagued with errors/bugs. @ 3k, thats a risk I cannot take. Be sure you research the actual "bugs" on the A6. Most are no...

2 x jp8000 + 1 jp8080 nord lead 1 keyboard, nord lead 2 rack, nord lead 2x rack 2 x fr777 2 x tr909 2 x sh101 + mc202 3 x tb303 3 x tr606 2 x juno 106 Reasons vary. Finding good deals, plans to upgrade to rack versions (save space) but then not being able to give up the keyboard versions experience.

Novation Nova question

Picked up a Novation Nova and it seems like every other (not quite though - more random) note plays a bit differently. Like a filtered version of the main patch. Doesn't seem to be a velocity or aftertouch problem. Can any Nova owners think of what this might be? Thanks! Looking forward to playing m...

Re: Roland MKS-80

It only has the low-pass filter, and they don't self-oscillate at full resonance. The Jupiter-6 has a multi-mode (LP/HP/BP) filter. say it isn't so! the mks-80's filter can't self oscillate? i do seem to remember hearing that the mks-30 was the only mks that could self oscillate. does the jupiter 6...

Re: Tell me about the nord modular series

I've heard that editing a modular g1 on mac os x is a pain/hard, I've also heard of some editor called nomad... does that work well? does clavia's os X beta work better? I've edited my g1 on the mac using clavia's beta editor build. works fine. if you read the docs it has a few things such as "don'...

If you've not tried the jayb patches (search youtube) give them a try as well. Most are trance supersaw's which are not really what I use for my music but so very, very fun to play. Sorta like the synth version of playing power chords on a guitar for a few hours. Huge sounds!

Re: The Curse of Jupiter (JP8000 problems, need owners' help)

I've owned two JP8000's and one JP8080 - never a problem.

The vsynth goes for quite cheap $700 or so very often. However it is not comparable to the JP8000 even though on paper it has many of the features. It is a good synth but in a different way.

Re: I just bought a NL2x. I'm sooooo disappointed...

I do not mind the lack of an LCD either. I wouldn't mind having one but the lack of one is not a problem.

In fact, I sometimes wonder if I get better results because I'm never biased by a patch name. No preconceived idea of what "type" of sound a patch is before hearing it.

Re: Synth sellers will soon need to drop their prices.

i suppose we are all musicians and not economists... prices will rise. 1. prices are low now because the UK pound has dropped. Most of the expensive tb's etc were ones with worldwide shipping. For a time, everything in the US was very cheap for those paying pounds and (to a lesser extent) euros. 2. ...
