Re: External HDDs for recording
Lacie's are horrible drive. and truth is USB2.0 and Firewire are the same speed. Actually USB2.0 is a hair faster than firewire. BUT... what you REALLY want to look for in an external HD is that is has an OXFORD Chip Set regulating the firewire port. there's variations of Oxford 911. 912, 913, 922 a...

Re: Kurzweil Synth as efx processor?
i just found out that the k2600/k2661 have the same engine as the KSP8 mammoth processor, and there is indeed a LIVE mode... yummy! I just found one used with sampling option and other goodies for less than half the price of a KSP8... it was a no brainer.

Kurzweil Synth as efx processor?
Might anyone know if a kurzweil (k2000/2500/2600) can be used as a real time efx processor? i'd like to route signal from my synths into it real time and effect it with the internal processor. thanks.

Re: 4 hours in a studio!
having genelec and avalon means nothing and for what it's worth... genelec and avalon is kinda like what modern korg and yamaha synths are in the vintage synth world. there are so many better monitors and compressors out there for the same price that sound a h**l of a lot better. plus it sounds like...

Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread
i'd like to say something to Brad Berry's defense (aka onkloud9) I bought a couple items from him last year. one arrived perfect the other damaged. after a phone call to him he put my worries at ease about the damaged item... even refunded me before i shipped it back to him. he was very friendly and...

Re: Why doesn’t the OB-8 get more love?
i've owned sequential stuff before (p5 rev3, p5 rev2, 600, t8, six trax, 2000, pro one) i always sold them soon after i bought them( although out of the bunch... the t8 and 600 were my favorites). they are fine synths, but to me, they don't come close to the depth and options that oberheim can offer...

Re: Oberheim OB-MX
ok... 2 cents from someone who's owned one for years... first... it's in the shop right now with power supply issues. BUT... that is the only major problem I've had in 5 years. There is lots of mention about battery problems... i don't get it... what is so problematic about buying a common off the s...

Re: How much is an Oberheim OB12 worth nowadays?
no need to act like a little nancy. as far as the OBMX, yes that is quite the Oberheim Albatross. In fact it's at the shop right now with power supply issues. Does it sound better than the OB12, yes it does... does it work well... not nearly all the time. BUT, Nancy, I never said it was the bomb... ...

Re: How much is an Oberheim OB12 worth nowadays?
wow! what part did you not get when i said it was MY opinion. I think it's great that you love your ob12. really, i do. I PERSONALLY think it's an overrated, overpriced synth. I don't speak out of speculation. It's first hand experience. We got stuck with tons of these because 1. the OS was way too ...
