SYNTHCURIOUS - Coventry, UK 20-21/3/2015

Hi, Apologies if this is in the wrong sub-forum. I honestly wasn't really sure where to post it. Mods, please feel free to move it to somewhere more appropriate. https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix/2819_postersynthcurious150215v9flat_1.jpg https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix/2819_reverse...

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

It's here! When it arrived, there was a little condensation on the casing, but it's been sat in a warm room now for 3 hours and looks fine. The PSU came with a Euro plug lead (2 round pins, like you find on electric razors and toothbrush chargers), thankfully I already have one of those. Can't wait ...

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

My SEM should be arriving today!

Just a quick question, the supplied PSU will operate on UK mains voltage, right?
So, I should only need a travel adaptor so the US plug will fit into a UK wall socket, is that correct?

Cheers!

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

Congrats on the SEM, let us know what you think when you've had a good play. I think you're right, 70 quid's not too much more for avoiding the import hassle and being able to return it in Europe if there's a problem. Thanks, I'll report back in the next few weeks. Apparently they're both due to ar...

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

Ordered my SEM (Patch Panel) from SchneidersLaden! Decided for the sake of £70 or so (currently), I'd rather not have the anxiety of importing from the US, plus I spent a good few hours at Schneiders one afternoon this Summer and all the staff were great. Also ordered a Pro Solo Mk II from Kenton. C...

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

Looking at getting a patch-point SEM. I'm in the UK. Getting one from SchneidersBuro works out over £800. In the US, the price equates to less than £600. I know some American musicians who come here regularly on musician's visas. I'm thinking I could ask them to bring one over for me as one of their...

Re: Slim Phatty

Glad other folks have noticed the UK pricing. I was also expecting the UK price to be lower. The DSI Mopho KB is $799 and is £535 from Digital Village. The Moog Slim Phatty is also $799 but is £699 from Digital Village. WTF? I understand that Moog perhaps sell each unit for more than DSI do, but it ...

I believe the synth in #4 is a Yamaha CS6x with the colours inverted in post production.

ARP Quartet value?

How much would you expect an ARP Quartet to be worth in the UK? I have one in good condition other than the levers have broken off a lot of the switches, though they still function - you can poke a lever back in to flip the switch. The faders are a little scratchy too. Besides that everything works ...
