Re: Desktop Korg Arp Odysseys
Hope you'll make it! Looking forward to see the mod. I can solder but that's about what I can do so I guess it's risky to do anything with only schematics (and if I'd have to solder SMD it'll be a challenge..) But I'd look in the manual, thanks for the link.

Re: Desktop Korg Arp Odysseys
Most of the CV in/outs are available directly from the selector switches - it should be quite easy to insert a switched jack for each of the signals. That sloping panel at the front looks like an ideal place to put the patch points ;) One of the good things with the module, is that you can now pitc...

Re: Waldorf Blofeld encoders - will stand the test of time?
I have a Blofeld key for a couple of years and it's a store display unit (so maybe used moderately). Not using extensively lately but encoders are ok. Only main volume knob drifts until the value settles (about a sec) and looking that irritates me but it's not affecting perceived volume. Other knobs...

Re: roland r8 jazz brush card
Thanks for the back-up on that Z. Yes, I forgot to post the link to your video :D Canada, I don't know if it's just me but I do hear a Swish sound all throughout that demo. I hear the sound but it's very short. Maybe it's because the rom's limitation but usually it's played like the sound is contin...

Re: Longest production runs for synths
The CMI Series I was about $27K (1979) in the USA, CMI II about $40K (1980) and CMI III $60K (1985). I bought my house in 1984 for $75K. I bought a Subaru station wagon in 1986 for $10K. So Fairlights were pretty darn expensive. The 2009 reissue Series 30A was only $20K. If my memory servers, in 19...

How much is it now? In 1984 you could buy a brand new house for the money of the CMI in my countrygarranimal wrote: Fairlight CMI made for 13 years until '92. And Peter Vogle has recently started offering them for sale again.

Re: Do different oscillators have their "own" sound ?
Why don't you take some vintage synth with aux in (which is fed to filter) and some stand alone osc (like from some modular) and compare the final result (osc->vcf->vca) with original synth's osc and external one? Then it may prove the "negligible difference" will be actually so or not. I bet the la...

Re: Any news on new products for 2016
That's like new microKorg: VA, slimkeyboard (better than old mini key) and some on board seq, visual inspired by kingkorg

EDIT: IT'S ANALOG actually! So, this will be the Korg's answer to much anticipated reissue of Mono/Poly!

I think it did, some later ones.garranimal wrote:Did some versions of the 2600 have duophonic capability?
(and then, I'd make a tri-phonic capable as well since it has 3 oscs. that'd be awesome)

Re: Korg Might Be Up To Something.
I love my Korg Odyssey and I still want Korg ARP2600! And 86% size business would be very nice this time, like TTSH. It should somehow need to be able to do duophonic with MIDI keyboard tho! The duophonic feature of Odyssey is one of the most important things of it; makes unique sounding.

Re: Loaded soundset into Waldorf Blofeld...
If you have an iPad, Patch Morpher is $10 (in IAP) and think a good. It's handy since you can directly connect an iPad to Blofeld via a USB cable.
