Re: Waldorf Blofeld encoders - will stand the test of time?

I have mine since 2012 and don't really have knobs issues. It's the black version though - heard they don't really suffer from it.

Re: Reason, Renoise, Fruity Loops or other?

I don't mind Edison at all, especially it's iterations in FL 10 onwards. Quite simple to use.

Out of those 3, FL Studio is best for MIDI. However, I would say Live has better overall MIDI implementation, but I prefer FL due to it's easy to use piano roll.

Re: EPS 16+ disks and other things

It doesn't have an output expansion, although I don't intend to use it for major sampler use.

I may look for a way to interface a CF card reader instead, if that's possible. I know that was possible with my previous Akai S2000.

Not the annoyingly small keys. They're nearer to full-size.

Re: Re-capping an OB-8

Older PCBs tend to have their traces come right off if the temperature is too high from the soldering iron, or you leave it on an area for too long when soldering.

Re: Waldorf Synth questions

1. Waldorf was formed by former PPG employees, so many of the resulting synths are based on PPG technology. The Wave would definitely be a spiritual successor. 2. The Q is more of a VA with limited wavetable capabilities. 3. There's Nave, Largo and the Blofeld itself too. All are proper wavetable sy...

Learn how to mix your tracks yourself, or send it off to someone else who can do it.

90% of what you hear is expertise, the 10% is gear. You will get c**p results with expensive gear if you don't know what you're doing.

Re: Commodore 64 with Mssiah...having SD2IEC problems

Yeah, might be the SD card itself. Try a few and see what happens. Did you try saving to a floppy? Some people had problems with their SD2IECs in terms of saving too. I recall that a firmware update should fix it. I haven't tried this myself, but ask about on forums such as Lemon64 or the MSSIAH for...

Re: Commodore 64 with Mssiah...having SD2IEC problems

Also, the format function in MSSIAH is meant for floppies, not the SD2IEC.

Also, you can't overwrite previous files. This isn't the issue of MSSIAH or the SD2IEC, but how the C64 handles files itself.

Never had this issue. What device number is it assigned? Do you have anything else apart from MSSIAH connected?

Re: Waldorf Blofeld

If I want it to sync via LFOs, ill use one through the sequencer. Probably down to the possibility that the Blofeld is a bit underpowered in the CPU department. Wouldn't be surprised, since they go so cheaply. I'd much rather that than the likes of most ipad synths, though. They are often riddled wi...

Re: Advantage of a monophonic synth?

Monophonic synths are useful for expressive leads. Polyphonic synths are useful for pads etc.

No real advantage over each other, it all depends on your personal preference.

Re: EPS 16+ disks and other things

Got the OS disk, now to find how to rip it to HFE to work with the HxC interface.

Thinking of going the HxC route for sounds, and found a website that offers downloads. Have to figure out on how to convert them too.
