Re: painting minilogue knobs
do i need to remove the knobs to paint? Yes, it's well better if you want to do a fine and precise work. You only have to pull vertically the button (carrefully) to remove them. Another solution is to replace the buttons. My Minilogue: https://img.audiofanzine.com/image.php?lang=fr&identifier=image...

Re: Any nice sounding Jupiter 8 demos?
Jupiter 8 demos? I don't know if it's "nice" but I did this demo a few years ago: http://pushpull.ch/audio/Push-Pull%20-%20JP8demo%20-%20La%20prise%20de%20Carthage.mp3 All sounds are from the JP-8 except the drums sounds, of course. No compressor, no chorus, just reverb and sometimes a little delay...

Re: Short rant: Rosen Sound in LA (106 voice fix)
Some techs (respectable ones at that) say sockets cause more headache and increase the chances of dropped voices. I assume this means that there's a chance that the sockets won't hold the chip tight enough, and a bumpy car ride can unseat a chip. I find this plausible. Yes I agree, for a 106 on the...

What is the poblem with sockets ?Rob @ Rosen Inc wrote:Sockets for the chips are another controversy
I often repair 106s, so mine has voice #1 on socket just to check the 80017A of the 106s of my customers. No problem until today...

Re: Synth in "Relax" by Frankie goes to Hollywood?
Just because you can get a similar sound out of synth A, doesn't mean it *was* synth A that was used. I know that. But I've had a JP8 for 19 years and a Poly-800 (for some months !) and the JP is not as "lush" as we can expect. Try to play an Em chord on a Poly-800 (patch 11 with internal chorus) t...

Re: Synth in "Relax" by Frankie goes to Hollywood?
Yes I think there is a lot of Poly-800 chords in this album. The factory patch 11 with a bit of filtering and processing.Xynurse wrote:Iwait for it....a poly 800

Re: Should I Repair or Sell: Juno 106
No. I've fixed several 106s, and sometimes with an AR clone. If you recalibrate the voice carrefully, it sounds really the same.createsynthesis wrote:possiby have a slightly different sounding voice
