Roland U-220 help
Hello, just curious if anyone has any ideas on this. I bought a cheap Roland U-220 and it arrived in less than working condition. When I power it up, the LCD screen lights up, but has no information. Additionally, the unit does not appear to respond to Midi as indicated by a lack of sound output and...

Re: 1u rack pad synth
I'd love to get one, but I am not willing to pay what they seem to be going for at the moment. I still look though and this would have been my first choice. Since posting this, I decided to get the IWavestation for my iPad and that seems like it would cover the ground I was originally looking for. I...

1u rack pad synth
So, I am putting together a small rig and have a single rack space available and I wanted to fill it with a synth that I use play pads on that doesn't cost all too much. Immediately, I thought of the xv-5050 and wavestation sr. I would like to hear opinions on the merits of these or possible other s...

Re: Eurorack suggestions - new to modular
PS a great starter for Eurorack is the Tiptop Happy Ending kit which is a basic power supply, power harness and rails that you can rack mount or set on a tabletop. Because it's not enclosed, it's way chaper than most Eurorack emclosures...only $159 in the US. Actually, I have a happy ending on the ...

Re: Eurorack suggestions - new to modular
Thank you both very much for your responses. I have a fair idea about signal flow, but a lot of the knowledge beyond the most basic stuff eludes me. Any recommendations on good resources to start learning with?

Eurorack suggestions - new to modular
So,I am about to plunge into the world of Eurorack. I was going to start off small and use my FR-XS as a starting point. I was just curious what recommendations the community has as far as where to take it from there. I don't really have much direction but was thinking about maybe a couple of filter...

Re: MANTHER, MR. Q, and...??
From the sonicstate vid on these they are all between $600-$650 iirc. That doesn't seem unreasonable to me. I am looking forward to hearing what the Mr. D sounds like.

I don't know, the camo X50 was pretty bad too.supermel74 wrote:That's just awful. Any new color scheme would be better than that, except pink.

Re: NAMM 2017
The Dave Smith Instruments have done their Oberheim OB-6 and Prophet 6, but cant say why actually the customers dont say out loud why just after couple months they SELL that brand new synthesizer! Can you elaborate on this? It's true that there has been a fair amount of turnover through the auction...

Re: Esq-1 glitching
Unfortunately, I won't have anymore information about the issues until I pick it up (if I choose to). I just don't want it to be a money pit. I acknowledge I do t have much details and I apologize about that, but like I said, if this sounds like a big red flag, I might skip it. I find it interesting...

Esq-1 glitching
I have a lead on an ESQ-1 that has an issue where the current owner reports that it will work for a while and then the sound and display "gets weird". I will probably still pick it up anticipating taken it in for a repair to my tech, but does this sound like something I should avoid? The fact that i...

Re: Reissues you'd like to see...
The OB-X was largely based on the SEM and of course the 4-Voice and 8-Voice were a bunch of SEMs kludged together. You're right, and I believe that the OB-XA was CEM based along with the 8. With the oscs on the OB-6 being more SEM like, the OB-6 should in theory sound more like the OB-X than the XA...

Re: Reissues you'd like to see...
I would really, really, really love to see an authentic Oberheim OB re-issue. I am just not sold on the OB-6 being enough like the older ones. Musictrackjp's video has been the only one that I have seen where someone has made it sound like an older one (in that case an OB-8), but being that this th...
