Absolutely amazing. I HAVE to own one eventually. Every time I hear it - my spirit rises to new levels.

Re: Oberheim OB-6 Dave Smith
The OB-6 sounds more like an Oberheim than the OB-12 did so quit your whining. Seriously this thing sounds great. The oscillators have that ultra hollow electronic sounding square wave, the OB resonance is nicely portrayed, the filter is totally SEM, and who here really has the absurdity to b*...

Re: ARP Solus
I have a Solus and a white face Oddy - the Solus is on everyday. It's a monster of a synth. Way more playable than the Odyssey in my opinion due to octave switching and the wave and mix sliders. While it doesn't have S/H and only one EG, it's sound is exact to the Oddy, and in the aggressive area - ...

Re: furniture & stands
I can recommend the K&M Spider stands - they hold up to 230 lbs of synth per stand and you can add tiers. They have a smaller footprint, look awesome and transport wonderfully. I'd take them over the Omega stands. I love em.

Re: Freaqbox Murmux
Yep... I do. For everything that it contains, being small batch, handmade - yeah, the price is nice. It costs the same as just ONE of my Macbeth dual oscillators in my modular. h**l, most good eurorack cases cost almost 75% of this thing. Also, the price to quality of sound ratio is what makes...

Re: Moog Sub 37, finaly a new poliphonic Moog?
another vid.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqgLPO5lR0Y y'know, im kinda surprised this isn't the longest thread in VSE history already with all the moog poly clamoring that has always gone on, perhaps because it's just a two voice? tell you what, it's nice to see a full front panel from moog agai...

Re: Dave Smith Mopho x4 vs. Studiologic Sledge
X4 all the way for what music you jam - definitely. I've watched Bernie Worrell play DSI pieces many times and did his thing with them. You won't be disappointed. You can get those nice polyphonic stabs that he did with the Talking Heads with it too.

Re: Evil Poly Pad Machine
If you want creepy/eerie pads and strangeness - you are going to need two oscillators so you can detune them. It's obvious the Juno 6 wouldn't work - sell it to me.

Re: Some thoughts on the Arp Odyssey
The Odyssey was one of my "must have before death" synths for a very long time. Somehow I kept putting it off and grabbing other notorious analogs, etc. and for years I just never managed to complete my mission in obtaining one. I am an ARP fan. The 2600 and my Solus just have a sonic character that...

Re: MFB Dominion X
Well here's the weird thing about those knobs next to the display; the one that goes to 7 says "Audio Out" above it, and the other one is some sort of MIDI selector. In the video, the display says 123. So your guess is as good as mine. MFB has always been confusing on some things. The patch memory o...

Um... doesn't the Dominion have memory? I was sure that it did. Hence the display.

Re: New Synth Advice Psychadelic rock/ambient
I will also add that the only analog poly's that have satisfied me for psychedelia are the Andromeda, Prophet 5 and Juno 60. The Juno is a great choice as the chorus on it is super swirly and... that arpeggiator. In fact, screw everything else, get a Juno 60 and at least two knobby pedals like the S...

Re: New Synth Advice Psychadelic rock/ambient
I primarily play psych rock/experimental stuff in a plethora of bands and my best advice would be to grab a Nord Electrovand an analog synth. You can get a VA, but make sure it's knobby. I still think you will want that analog smoothness, like self oscillating a filter and sweeping the cutoff and a ...
