Re: KMS-30 DIN Sync 24 not working w/ 606 707!
Welcome to VSE, I'm also a longtime user of the KMS-30 and love it. never had a problem driving 606, 707, anything. This sounds like the KMS-30 itself is probably the issue. There *can* be something special about din sync cables... IIRC, DIN sync and midi both use 3 of the 5 pins, but not the same 3...

Re: Prophet T8, repaired pop noise - but overall sound too h
Wine country told me a few years back that they had a collection of docs that were destined for a full up service manual, but they wanted like $80 for it. The CEM3360 datasheet should be helpful in determining if that's why it's running a little hot/distorted in its output levels. My studio is a lit...

Re: Optigan help
Congrats on fixing the hum. I've just spent a sunday afternoon with my Optigan and it's running pretty well now. Some of the chord buttons and backing track switches aren't working, and just getting access to the board looks involved. The reverbs not working either, but I suspect it's just shorted. ...

Re: Optigan help
Got a link to the schematic? I've also got a busted one in my basement that I'd like to fix up soon and was considering buying a photocopy of the service manual. I plan on adding an audio output as well: http://optigan.com/pdfs/OptiOutMod.pdf

Re: Prophet-600 - trying to get it all fixed up
The trimmer sealant is probably from the factory. pulling out the ribbon from the board connection cleaning with iso and reinserting it may fix the membrane if you're lucky. the pot rotational range could be the DAC gain relative to the 5V supply, there's a trim for it. I've got a friends P600 here ...

Re: hidden cost of using ebay
It still happens. I packed a matrix 1000 at least that well. Via USPS parcel post it arrived in Hawaii 2 weeks overdue with the rack ears bent. USPS refunded me and it's in the boston postmaster's basement still fully working.

Arp put a dab of paint on most internal bolts to know when to void the warranty. Good luck, omni's can be a total pain.

Re: which hardware MIDI sequencers have the best interface?
If OP "program drum patterns with both real-time" means Roland TR-XOX style tap write, you can't do this (yet) on the Cirklon surprisingly. If that's just real record a midi data, everything can do this, but it's hard to find one that you can then edit a recording in step sequencer fashion. Monomach...

Re: Is it common for a repair store to not support a brand?
Back when there were authorized Ensoniq service centers, the protocol was total shotgun. problem in on digital board? ->replace digital board. Some of the service manuals didn't even have schematics, making them little help for troubleshooting at the component level. So yea, with THIS brand, parts a...
