Lack of track solo option on Elektron boxes-opinion?

I was so absorbed with my new Elektron A4 for the past week that I had just assumed that my inabiltiy to solo a track was the one procedure I couldn't glean on my own without cracking the manual. Lo and behold, after a quick Google search to confirm my fear, it is indeed true that you cannot solo tr...

Re: New Elektron box--Analog Four

3 weeks into owning this little beast, and I can confidently say that this is by far, the most intuitive, creativity-inspiring sonic wunderkind I've ever owned. The entire songwriting process, from the initial sound-sculpting to the final sequencer arrangement is a joy with this machine. A tweaker's...

Re: New Elektron box--Analog Four

A little late in the game, I know-but I just received the A4 a few days ago and it is absolutely stunning, awesome, intriguing [insert plethora of positive adjectival cliches here]--the machine I've been waiting for since I first jumped into the game with an Electribe and a Sidstation back in 2004. ...

Polymorph or Elektron A4?

This may seem a silly question on the face of it what with Elektron's superior (analog) sound engine and its parameter locks and just being more modern and relevant, etc., but there is only 1 piece of gear I regret selling years ago (and I've sold and traded tons of it)--the elusive and semi-mysteri...

Re: Elektron A4 to replace Spectralis 2

Excellent input, as always, Zoom. I haven't been in the forum for awhile and I'm glad to see the regualrs still here. I think you nailed it on the head when talking about overthinking things, particualrly with the Elektrons. I think I'm at the point with the Speckie where my inability to travel flue...

Re: Elektron A4 to replace Spectralis 2

The speckie does a lot more than the A4 doesn't it? It's got drums, a sampler and a filter bank vs the A4s four analogue voices. Seems to me you'd need and A4 and an OT to replace the speckie. Thanks, Stab, and I'm well aware of the versatility I'm giving up, but at present I'm more interested in c...

Elektron A4 to replace Spectralis 2

I know there's been a tiny bit mentioned months ago about the pros and the cons of each the Speckie and the Elektron A4, but I am at a crossroads here with my speckie--I just can't take the menu diving anymore. I've owned the Speckie on and off for 6 years and the hate portion of my love-hate affair...

Re: Spectralis vs. A4

I am able to follow the Elektron flow quite smoothly, and certain rudimentary elements of the Spectralis also feel natural and intuitive. ~~~babbling```<snipped I should clarify that I, as yet, have not begun to add any Elektron gear back into my arsenal, and if and when I do, We may possibly be loo...

Re: Spectralis vs. A4

VERY nice of you to do that, Ace! Thank you so much. You definitely helped me understand the "Parts" submenu of the Trigger Groups a lot better than I could have ever done on my own. I'm still at the middle of your tutuorial and it's very beneficial already.

Re: Spectralis vs. A4

I'm with you, Ace. I DO need to dive further into the Speckie to fully realize its full potential, but I often don't feel like diving much further than I already have. Just trying to get my head around how to actually use the 'TGRP' settings on the ASynth is enough by itself to cut short a night of ...

Re: Spectralis vs. A4

Excellent points, Ace, and fairly hilarious that you mentioned the tax return, 'cause I've been wrestling with just biting the bullet, keeping the Speckie & usingthe refund for the A4 (though my years of financial foolishness has given me the wisdom, or at least, the guilt, to try not to do that). I...

Re: Spectralis vs. A4

Thought I'd wait a month and see if anything's changed and it seems the more demos I'm seeing on the A4, the more I'm liking it. As Zoom and Zamise astutely pointed out, there seems to be that eternal battle of versatiltiy and all-in-one unit independence vs. intuitiveness and less necessitated menu...
