Re: 8 Bit / Glitch

I don't know if it was featured in a magazine and it isn't yet available, but one of the more interesting 8-bit concepts. "The Nerdsynth is a analogue and digital synthesiz...

Re: Roland System 500 vs Moog Mother 32 (x3)

having said that, I just received another 20% off coupon... and now I have some serious contemplating to do, like how many Mothers does one need? just One? or maybe Two with an expansion case? a set of Three? or None and stick with the plan? ...s**t.

Re: Roland System 500 vs Moog Mother 32 (x3)

during the holidays I received an offer from Musician's Friend for 20% of a total purchase and a full set of Mothers for $1500 was tempting, they're a great value but so are the Rolands (which to me are perhaps a bit more interesting maybe) and either way both seem a great way to get into the modula...

wow... a Mother-32 is $599 and a rack kit is $69. I'm going to talk to the wife about moving to Norway if one can buy a house for under $2K

...the main thing to do here is consider the source of this information. Digital Screams is, to put it bluntly, a bit of a melodramatic troll. Re: beginner modular synth buying question

this is where I feel that software can be incredibly helpful. your computer or iPad has several great virtual modular options available and this will allow a person to get an idea of what they can expect when they they only have one Oscillator and one Filter, then what happens when you add a VCA and...

Re: Rumor: New ACB(?) Roland sampler coming to NAMM 2016

with NAMM being weeks away I really do hope that Roland adds a sampler to the Aira line ...my hope has been that they release a "SP-8", which will bring back VariPhrase and finally improve upon the SP-808. as for this "rumor" ...this is nonsense and was obviously created by someone who knows very li...

Re: Korg DSS-1

Some samples sound really good and can make the DSS-1 a very versatile keyboard, I guess. I'm mainly after grand piano and string (Mellotron style) sounds for live playing. From the demos I've heard, the DSS-1 can do that and much more! as a DSS-1 owner I strongly feel that you shouldn't buy one. t...

Re: Ableton Push 2

Everything Ableton is too expensive. I'm considering switching to Bitwig. which is a bit like saying "Everything Apple is too expensive. I'm considering switching to Linux/Android." ...which is alright for some, but nothing I'd consider doing. it's cliche and there are exceptions but often one gets...

Re: **NEW ROLAND ANALOG SYNTH**

I know the originals will always be worth more but it does affect the resale value :|? I saw an MS20 recently on my local Craigslist for $700, that's only half of what the asking price would have been just a year ago. Now I'm waiting for Odyssey prices to drop 8-) my local Guitar Center recently to...

Re: SH-201 with Ableton live

the SH-201's USB would have been the easy answer but if Roland's driver will no longer work, then you will connect it the same way that you would any other synth, via its MIDI ports.

do you not have a MIDI interface or an audio interface with MIDI ports?

Re: Roland Aira System 1--SonicState review vid

Imagine a well laid out control surface, with or without a keyboard, with SHARC dsp's and room for expansion and a webstore were you can buy the Roland/Boss Plugins you want. All connected by a Firewire 800 or USB3 port (32in / 32out audio channels). Heck, just let UA do the modelling of the synth,...
