Re: DW 6000 Problems.

Every patch sounds the same it's a sine or square wave that has portamento applied. The LFO is also applied on a very slow frequency and on every patch the release on the envelope is set to infinite (highest). The waveforms don't change when prompted. OSC 1 initially was out, but when I turned it of...

DW 6000 Problems.

Well The DW 6000 that I want to buy has an issue. The filters and envelopes work, but it doesn't seem to have all of the waves. When I try and change them the same wave (sounds like a sine wave) plays. The rest of the board works, and there is a sound that's musical that is coming from the synth it ...

Re: E-mu's Bizarre Sense Of Humour!

Indeed, Mackie manuals ARE great! They're very clear, concise and informative, with a friendly, casual tone (instead of sounding like the monotonous delivery of a very boring tech writer), and littered with excellent humour, from chuckle-worthy to howl-inducing. Easily some of the best manuals I've...

Re: Poll: your musical influence for interest in synthesizers

Some amazing s**t has come out of EDM. I'm not a huge fan, because of lots of reasons...First off I think it's played WAY too loud at clubs...I digress. I think it, to me is akin to death metal. A lot of the players in death metal will amaze you with some stuff they pull off, but I don't think it's ...

Re: tube amps

now that I think we have covered a fair amount of territory regarding the OP, think I can hijack this thread into a different topic regarding Tube amps? I am all stoked on having build at x0xb0x [as evidenced by my inserting mention of it into 90% of recent posts] and I am giving serious thought to...

Re: Emu SP1200 pricing

So, what do you guys and gals think, is the SP 1200 worth two grand? I think it is getting there... $1500 - $1700 seems to be the going rate. Cool info on the SP1200: http://www.emulatorarchive.com/DrumMachines/SP1200Overview/sp1200overview.html Thanks for the link, I'm surprised I've not seen this...

Re: Emu SP1200 pricing

I'm sure someone may be willing to pay that price or near it..... it's a well known machine, I would sell it now.... I think once the Linn Analog Drum Machine is released, there will be a shift. When is Linn going to release a new machine? Eh, I've been out of it. I've been buying old Wurlitzer 140...

Re: Emu SP1200 pricing

Yeah, I think I wouldn't pay more than 800- to 1200 now, I bought this one for 350.00. Not your "average deal". I was holding it for someone and he ran into baby/money troubles and asked what I had in the bank for the SP 1200. I told him 350, and boom I got an sp 1200. I'm not a reseller per se, but...

Emu SP1200 pricing

Why are the SP 1200s so damn expensive on Ebay? Didn't they make more of those than any other stand alone sampler, form like '85 to '98. I just go off the bay and saw one for a buy it now price of 2,000, 1,750, and I think the cheapest one was 1,250USD. I don't know, I was gonna sell mine, but if th...

Re: Live Videos.

Me playing at a private party (testing) some of my unfinished songs - sorry for the lousy quality. Quality makes no difference, I just wanted to see people make music. I don't like concert vids of major bands or electronic acts, but I love homade stuff. I love doing what you're doing in this vid. J...

Live Videos.

Anyone got Live footage of your act? Well I for one like to see live music and synths in action. Please post your live footage, now that we have the capability. I'd love to see them, good bad and ugly. Here's a performance from my band. Please forgive the shaky camera, my wife was at the helm. And y...

Re: Do you hate when bands...

Ah, we used to gig at the Black Cat all the time to huge crowds of 15-20 people. If you had been playing generic indie rock maybe you'd have gotten more love. Getting back on topic I'm pretty ambivalent about whether or not a performer is actually playing an instrument or relying heavily on b...

Re: My polysynth is finally finished :D

I just heard the samples. Thanks for the additional link. Wow, great work, Adam. You did this in two years and all the sounds are awesome. Seems a small price for such an accomplishment. I'm really amazed.
