Re: GAS --- Just bought 2 new pieces... POLYMORPH & SIDSTATION
I never got to play with any Quasimidi gear... But i spend a lot of time with my sidstations. One of the most magical pieces of gear i ever had. The SID filter distorts in all sorts of ways. It has a lot of filter types, the lfos have a lot of options too. You can use the wave sequencer for each of ...

Re: Will the Linn drum ll be released?
Someone has to make an MPC competitor. With 4 midi outs and 2 midi ins (no less). But with better OS support.
Akai is scary when it comes to OS updates. Otherwise that MPC5000 would be more tempting!
Do you think the Linndrum II will include a sequencer for external machines ?

Re: Old jomox machines vs new
Can't help you compare those machines... But i got an xbase 999 a little while ago and it sure is fun to use! The built-in sequencer was a selling point for me. I know a lot of people seem to prefer the xbase888 but be aware that Jomox put up an xbase888 OS for the xbase999. So if you aren't sure, i...

When i was a kid, i always seemed to like the electronic sounds in songs. It started with some beatles songs and other stuff of that era. In the mid 80s i got fascinated by the dx7. How i wished to have one. My parents bought me a Yamaha portasound which was really cool. Couldn't stop playing with i...

I really like my fantom workstation for pads. You can layer up to 4 oscillators in one patch and you have different ways of chaining the filters. Lots of useful options... I also like pads from the mc-303. No i'm not kidding. Everybody seems to hate the mc-303 but if you tweak some sounds a bit, the...

The non-resonant filters on my EPS weren't much better than a bass/treble control on a radio. Well - not really, because you could still mod them with envelopes/lfo's and such. You know, this is pretty much what i had in mind. Well, my EPS has been in repair for a while now but last time i used it,...
If it comes with the 4x+scsi expander, has the keyboard fix and/or a bunch of disks(commercial! not home-made) it's still on the edge of too much, imo. God help me, I love the EPSes but the original is a bear if it's unupgraded/unfixed. What has to be fixed on a regular EPS ? What's the keyboard fi...

I usually try sounds that do not compete for the same note range as the patterns i use on my 303 clones. I like pads using both a low pass and a high pass filter. I can remove some low end to not clutter up the sound too much and filter out the harsh high frequencies. Something along those lines can...

You might want to take a look at this website : http://www.acidvoice.com/princefan3 wrote:how would it rate against a fat freebass or a deep bass nine.....
Check out the audio on the acidlab webpage. I doubt many people will have both the acidlab and the freebass or deep bass nine...

Other nice things to know about the bassline 1 : You can manually turn on accenting by pressing the accent button while in play mode. You can mess with the pattern length and timing switches in realtime for more fun. Pattern switching is instant, you can play part of one pattern and switch to anoth...
