Re: Will Kurzweil release a new workstation line ?

The only reason they called it a PC was for marketing, claiming there pc series outsold the K's. In all respect's the PC3 is a enhanced K2600 synth engine with better quality samples. I agree they should have added expandable ram, even if just for loading samples through USB. I doubt they had the re...

Re: help with quick comparison of roland rack synths - xv*, jv*

The XV 3080, 5080, internal ROM is 32hkz, 5080 has the ability to load sample's at 44hkz with expandable ram of 128 mb and reads many popular sample libraries.

Re: Floyd founder Wright dies at 65

Great keyboardist, who deserves more recognition than he probably receives for defining early progressive rock, and his contributions to Pink Floyd.

Re: Synths used by Whitesnake in '87?

I don't really hear the D50's tone on this album.Sure that airy pad sound in the intro for Hear I Go Again sounds very D50ish but not glassy enough, maybe some of the string sounds heard throughout the album could be.There following release "Slip Of The Tongue" i think came out 1989, has D50 sounds a...

Regardless if they are VA style patches or not, these sounds can be done on alot of VA synth's and 80's DCO synth's. I felt it lacked a nice organic quality,I'm sure it can sound warm and fat.Would love to it.

Sounds way to VA-ish and quite boring, i hope this is more the case of the sounds programmed and the demo. This synth has to be capable of sounding more organic

There's a cleaning procedure for the JX8p given by Retrosound online. The keys are basically the same except the JX10 key action feels alot better, both open up from the top panel so it should work for both.

This is in response to the Kurzweil's PC3, Nord Stage, series, it certainly won't sound better than a PC3, or Stage and will be priced lower, that's what there probably counting on for it to be an alternative those higher priced boards. Affordable rompler,76 keys, exspansion, couple other features,I do...

You already have a very good master controller in the Motif XS if you ditch the D550, in favor of a D50 down the road you will wind up spending more money than if you just hold onto the 550, plus you won't have to worry about possible sticky or non working key problems, although i'm sure you could fi...

Why not stick one of your racks in a box, and put it in a closet.Everybody has some c**p stored away that they should have thrown out a long time ago,D550 won't bring much return in comparisiam to the MKS so you might as well keep it.
