I'd quite like to know this too, as I have a locked up Six-trak toodstrength wrote:rhino,
Did you happen replace the cpu with the original Z8400APS? Or did you use a more readily available modern version. I'm not sure, but it looks like I could use Z84C006. Not real familiar with this stuff. Any ideas?

Re: Journey Keyboard #3
It looks like a Roland VP-330 to me, or possibly an RS-505, based on the curved wooden end and grey and white switches

Oh well, didn't see the bit about not having a floppy drive, a USB one shouldn't cost much and might be useful for other stuff

Re: Roland MC500 OS and Disk Drive
The MC500 will run Super MRC (SMRC) but unless it has the memory upgrade for Mk II it has to keep loading parts of the software, wihich is a total pain, so if you have an un-expanded one it's probably best to stick to the MRC500 software (MRC300500)

Re: Poly evolver vs. Prophet VS
The Prophet VS is a wonderful synth, as is the Poly Evolver
They do share some features, namely the waveforms, a lot of which are also in the Wavestation
But, neither is capable of all the stuff the other can do, so get the one that does more of what you want
