Arturia Brutes track

Hi all,I've re-done a track I did originally in 1995 called fizzy pop. I used only the mini/microbrutes for all sounds including drums. These synths come in for a lot of flack it seems, I love them, and I've owned loads of vintage stuff, the Brutes are up there with the greats IMO. Anyway, hope you ...

Re: Personal Jesus electro snare sound

I wanted a snare like that for one of my tracks so i'll tell you how i did it. I used the korg monotron for the metalic sound, the monotron is good for this because of the fast lfo to filter mod. I then got an 808 snare and kick and layered them all using Guru. Lastly i added a gated reverd, which i...

Re: I Dream of Wires

This looks great, nice to see John Foxx still tinkering with analogue. I remember having a Digisound modular in the 80s, i felt rather lucky at the time, considering 'new' analogue gear was thin on the ground and digital was taking over. We really are spoilt for choice now, and this documentary clea...

Sounds like a short analog string sound like you said, but it has a flanger or chorus on it as well.

Re: To buy? Roland Alpha Juno 2 nonworking?

I would say don't bother with it. Alpha junos can be had for about $150-200 in working condition. If you can find me one for $200 working in the uk i'l take it now. These synths are so underrated, and they can produce some monsterous bass as well as great pads. Plus from what i've seen they are qui...

Re: PROMARS kicks a*s. This is why:

I've just got my promars back from James Walker (aka synth repair services) after a good overhaul including power supply, new battery, new opamp for a little fault it had, plus a major internal clean up. It now works flawlessly like a dream machine. For some strange reason it was tuned an octave too...

cool vid, around the 1.40 mark it sounds like yazoo, pure analogue goodness might have to take a look at one of these.

Nice vid AC, especially the arpegio playing with the bass line. I'm gonna watch it again and annoy the wife.

Re: Roland SH-2 Filter

I'd be surprised if anyone could emulate this synth with software, when the oscillators are tuned real close together you get the 'growl' that i aint heard on any other synth. But good luck anyway.

I like the Fantoms, very powerfull synth engine and not too difficult to program either (apart from the retarded fx routing system)

Re: Mfb modules/Kraftzwerg

Ok, thanks for the replies. It's a toss up between the Kraftzwerg and the Mopho for my next studio toy/weapon.Trouble is the new Doepfer Dark energy looks tempting as well. I already know about the innards of the DSI and Doepfer. It's the Mfb that's more unknown.

Mfb modules/Kraftzwerg

Does anyone know what circuits are used in the mfb analogue stuff? Are they custom Ic's or discrete?, from the demos of the Kraftzwerg that iv'e listened to the osc's sound quite thick like the Cem 3340's. but the 3340's are virtualy extinct nowdays so i dont think they're those. Any ideas?. Obiousl...
