Thanks for all the responses. I think I will just save up for a Roland R-8 or R-70.

Thanks for all the response. But to be more specific, I need at least 3 tracks and would prefer TR or grid-type step sequencer (within my under $100 budget). I've noticed Boss Dr Drum Machine sell under $100. I think a Dr5 would do what I need. Does any one know of other Boss Drs that might fit my n...

Yes zmd. Those and all the DSP effects work on all voices. If you cannot detect the effect, try playing the voice with an arp. You should really be able to hear the effect on any of the arps. Again, check DSP Level (you can assign it to your "Assign" knob to hear the intensity changes).

I think zmd is asking about some of the DSP effects. Check your DSP Level.

Yeah, the R-70 does look like a possibility. I will have to read up on it. I can really only afford about $100 right now. The only real sequencer experience I have is both real and step on a DX200, step on a DX21, and I've used a micron. The micron was a pain (too many sub menus). I was thinking RM1...

Inexpensive/Easy to Use Step Sequencer Suggestions

As titled, I am looking for an inexpensive/easy to use step sequencer. Any suggestions? I was thinking about a MMT-8, but found out it only does real-time. Maybe I will have to wait a while and get a Step 64.

Thanks for the response Zamise. Currently, I do not have an external sequencer. I am thinking about buying a MMT-8. They seem inexpensive and easy to use.

Yamaha DJX Cutoff and Resonance

The DJX's step and real-time sequencer will not record cutoff and resonance edits. Does any one know if this data can be transfered via MIDI to a sequencer? Can all data, regardless of synth, be transfered via MIDI? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for all the feedback. I think I may have put more into it based upon an article in SOS. I did look at the manual online and I think the step sequencer might be a bit of a pain. Maybe I'll look into an EPS. I think they sell for about $150-200.

Thanks for all the responses. What about the sequncer? Is it pattern, grid, or only real-time? Can one enter separate drum sounds using the keys instead of simply playing the preset drum kits? What I mean is can you make your own drumkits? How slow does the BPM go? Thanks in advance.
