Re: octave cat envelope/adsr triggering

Tried some basic stuff and came up with nothing. Haven't checked the trigger generator section which I probably should have hit first. But I still don't know if it's normal behavior or a problem. I really don't understand why it triggers fine each time except when it receives cv from the ext jack th...

octave cat envelope/adsr triggering

I'm having some strange issue with my octave cat (non-srm) where sending it a cv/gate will not consistently trigger the adsr under some conditions. Sometimes it will, but sometimes not. I've tested it with different cv sources and levels and it's the same. The strange part is that it will trigger ev...

Re: Boss SE-70 clicking/clock noise on reverb

Yeah, I was running it through a step down converter with the original PS and it made the noise, but I bought a euro adapter and cut out the converter and it has been fine. Problem is the barrel size for the connector is unusual so I found a supply with a 'usual' size barrel, then went on amazon and...

Re: Boss SE-70 clicking/clock noise on reverb

Thanks. I'm going to buy one of these. I tried the tests and everything seems fine. I sort of think it has to do with the step down transformer. My studio is not heated and I just realized turning off the space heater makes the sound go away except on the REV + GATE patch, which is the one I want to...

Re: Boss SE-70 clicking/clock noise on reverb

I have a 12vac adapter I could try, but the barrel is the wrong size. The se-70 takes 6.3mm OD and 3.0mm, but maybe I can find an adapter.

Re: Boss SE-70 clicking/clock noise on reverb

Thanks. I just found the service manual so I'm going to see if I can learn anything from test mode. Thanks for the adapter link, but I need a 230vac adapter. I'm in Serbia for awhile. I have euro adapters for almost all of my stuff, but the boss is the hardest to find. I don't really even know where...

Boss SE-70 clicking/clock noise on reverb

I have an SE-70 that's making some weird noise. I can hear all the effects and they don't sound distorted, but there is some kind of clicking or clock sounding tick noise that's in the audio like the audio is being clipped. I'm definitely not clipping the signal in, I tried with the +4/-20 switch on...

I got this book out of the library. Looks cool. Pretty general ideas. I'm going to read it a little while and see if it's good.

Re: buttons for Drumulator?

You can clean them. You just pop the black cap off and very carefully clean the contact. If the arm that makes contact gets bent or something, then you probably need a new one. I could not find them easily.

Re: Vermona Perfourmer filter envelope amt mod

Yeah, I have the filter doing what I want it to do. Now I am interested in finding out what the 'hi-end' trimmer does in the osc tuning and scaling section. I still haven't got a reply from Vermona.

Re: Vermona Perfourmer filter envelope amt mod

I just swapped out the resistors. Sounds cool. I did email Vermona asking if they had anymore documents about the tuning and scaling and I haven't got a response. Any chance you remember it? I got it kind of close, but still needs a little work. I understand most of the trimmers; the scale, tuning, ...

Re: Vermona Perfourmer filter envelope amt mod

Yeah, it's kind of strange none of the modulators will open the filter 100% if the cutoff is all the way down. They are all kind of weak. I was looking over the documents and I don't see any kind of adjustment for the filter other than resonance. I measured the env voltage going in at the filter sum...

Vermona Perfourmer filter envelope amt mod

Hi, I just got a Vermona Perfourmer. It's a cool synth. I noticed for some reason the filter envelope amount knob doesn't really have a strong effect on the filter. So I was looking at the schematics and messing around and found there is a 330k resistor at the mixing part into the filter. I can chan...

Re: DrumTraks--Jumpy buttons and pots

The drum pads look like the ones on the sp-12 and dx. They can be cleaned. Pop the cap off and you can see the switch mechanism and clean the contact. (Be careful not to bend the 'arm' that makes contact or it won't work right again and it is not easy to fix) On the sp-12 all the other buttons can c...
