E-MU E4K weak key

Hi,

I have a really like new E4K that suddenly has a key that the velocity response is lower than the others.
This machine is literally new so I don't see how it could be because of dust and usage.

Anyone has an idea before I decide to open it up? Ideas as such as what to look for...

Thanks

Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread

+1 to Sir Ruff.

Really cool guy. I bought his PG-1000, and it's just beautiful. Packaged almost bullet proof!

Thanks dude. This brings joy to me for XMas!

Re: do you think MIDI interfaces are going obsolete?

There is another issue that I don't believe members have fully addressed: Timing I know what you are thinking, "Yeah, MIDI timing sucks and the latency is awful in a multi-port interface." But in reality, MIDI over USB is even worse - especially when trying to sync the LFOs or arpeggiators from you...

Re: do you think MIDI interfaces are going obsolete?

I think there should be MIDI Wi-Fi adapters. USB ports, depending on the machine, is of limited count. Then, in the case of our friend who wishes to connect both the PC and the Mac on the same MIDI kit, there wouldn't be a problem. You build the MIDI to WiFi ports, with multiple port on it. You con...

Re: Roland S-330, long demo of custom sounds!

Sounds great!

All my gear is piled up because of "re-arrangements" in the house. This makes me miss my S-550!

Re: Montreal/South-shore area tech needed for Wavestation EX

Holy cow this is an old thread reborn! I can suggest you to contact John at Audiomanie. They are on Jean-Talon and St-Michel (near that). He is well known in the circle of musicians. He is working for himself but he installed himself there for now. He is an engineer and a fricken miracle worker. He'...

Re: The E-MU E-Synth

I have no idea why they are not listed... They should! Have you ever tried making synth sounds with simple generated loops (like in TurboSynth, single cycle loops and so on)? This is what I mainly do. With the cords, you can do some really cool sounds. Toronto is a 5 hours trip from here... not that...

Re: The E-MU E-Synth

I wish I could find one... Anyways! Go check on E-mu's site. You should find 4.62 there and it can be updated. The memory I'm talking about is seperated between the OS, the presets and the sequencer. The fact that you are running 4.10 proves that you can upgrade to 4.62 no problems. I have quite a f...

Re: The E-MU E-Synth

Th E-Synth keys has the same 4mb of CPU as the rack. The E4K is a PITA to upgrade, as you wrote.

I love these machines. The sound is warm and modulation matrix is crazy.
I have the E-Synth classic rack Dance edition (with one more ROM).

Re: Akai S950 Floppy

A little update. I just talked to a tech I know and he told me it could be the spring of a floppy metal protector. When I bought the S950, there was one stuck in the drive and it pulled out easily. Then everything worked fine until sudennly I was gettin that "Drive not mounted" error. There is a sma...

Re: Akai S950 Floppy

Yeah I saw them.120$ for a floppy is a ripoff. And they overcharge shipping. I found out about them in some forums and they pretty much all feel the same... I found some French guy who is modifying floppies for many machines. It would cost me half of vstservice even coming from France. I contacted h...

Akai S950 Floppy

Hi,

Anyone knows where I can find a replacement drive? Mine seems to have a mecanical problem where it doesn't recognise that there is a disk in it...

I found another question in the forum with no answer dating back to 2009. But I'm going to take a chance.
Very hard to find that thing.

Thanks
