Re: Korg Poly 800II Nearing the end?

Thanks for the answer. I'm guessing the battery will need changing soon, but there's no leakage. I just opened up the back, tightened the screws in the affected area and now tuning is stable- I'd forgotten that this worked last time. As for the single patch being unpredictable, I don't get it. The e...

Korg Poly 800II Nearing the end?

Hi, I've had my Korg Poly for just under ten years. All of my patches have been saved externally and the battery has never been changed. Just recently, note by note, it is slurring and going wildly out of tune. One patch actually made a loud hissing noise and stopped working briefly. When any pressu...

Thought so, thanks for the info. Do you remember what the selling price was?

Re: Great Kraftwerk video - Autobahn

I'm sure they used a vocoder on Ananas Symphonie from the Ralf and Florian LP...also Wendy Carlos had been on record a few years before Autobahn using a chorus of Vocoders on the Clockwork Orange soundtrack.

Re: Crazy Synths

No way! How does that even happen?? When I had a CD walkman my mobile would pause it every time someone calledif it was in the same pocket- Don't know how that happened. My crazy synth was a Siel mono. I loved it, wish I'd never sold it: ( as I've seen another since. When you set some of the switche...

Korg Poly 800 charging??

I have the feeling this is going to be a stupid question but I read somewhere sometime ago that plugging a Korg Poly in to the mains and leaving it on effectively charges it's memory battery. I 'm assuming this is spurious information but just wanted confirmation. Also is ten years the limit of life...

Roland SH09

What would be the current price for one of these in good condition? Are they particularly rare? The SH101 certainly seems sought after and goes for £300+ a lot of the time from what I've seen and the 09 is much better to look at!

Mac G4 Video Card DVI complex!

What a heading! I bought a G4 some time ago and every monitor I try on it gives me a yellow light with nothing displayed on screen. What could be a solution? I've tried CRT with VGA to DVI converters and DVI LCD monitors; nothing works. How could a video card just fail like that?

I thought so, I just had to check as I'm a bit paranoid about the sale. They offered me much more than I expected so I'm on a bit of a guilt trip. Thanks again :D

its just the way it is. my vss30 does it sometimes, sometimes not. you actually have to breach the threshold to get it to record the sample. Thanks for the replies, can I just confirm what you mean by breach the threshold? It just seems to be almost randome and I don't want the buyer to think they'...

Yamaha VSS 200 sampler question

Hi, I just need to confirm something about this keyboard. When I press record sample it goes 'beep' and I assumed that from that point onwards it was sampling however as far as memory serves the samples sometimes record as incomplete so I'm wondering if you have to wait (for instance) five seconds a...

Pretty right Tom. The story is found on the liner note from Enos 'Discreet Music". He was confined to bed, after an accident, and his friend Judy Nylon brought him a record of 18th century harp music. After she left, and with considerable difficulty he put the record on and found that the sound was...

Front 242 synths?

This is a fairly poor topic, I know, but I've enjoyed their music for many years and have recently been wondering what synths they used in the past. They always seemed to use the most metallic weirdly thin sounds available (Never Stop, Headhunter etc.) I'm assuming they used an Ensoniq ESQ 1 like mo...

Please forgive my naive stupidity but is it possible to sync midi-ed synths to pre existing loops in Cubase and if so, how? :D
