Re: Have I killed my Doepfer Modules?

My advice(?) would be to take the modules to a good tech before holding the wake. It is illogical that EVERY part would be killed: Something in the power supply (in the module) would likely fry first and "take the bullet" for everything else. (hopehopehope) That was what I was thinking…shouldn't so...

Re: Reverb, can anything sound this good?

There's other awesome reverbs out there. Are you going to get them all in one box? probably not…you could drop a lot of money trying to find a cluster of pedals the reproduce all that is in that box, and probably not in stereo, and probably with higher signal noise/noisefloor and definitely a deeper...

Re: Let's talk about... monitor placement

Everything Stab said…a few things I've gleaned over the years from this site [some experts incredibly generous with their time] http://www.johnlsayers.com check out the forums. look at the overall space you are in. You want an equidistant triangle with your head at the point. If you work from the fr...

Re: midi sync clock help!

Thanks Man, I appreciate it. Some of this is debugging the studio. I've been so focused on either playing my gear or building out the studio I haven't been recording in ages. I just started a new project with a mix of acoustic and electronic instruments. A major part of it is going to be recording t...

Re: midi sync clock help!

Thx Stab, I'm having trouble figuring out the devices and set up I'd need to make this happen. I didn't realize that the Apollo didn't have midi in it. Thinking I could just use that little usb midi box that Elektron sends with the Machinedrum? Maybe I am dumb…just curious about what I'd need to mak...

Re: Analog delay pedal recommendation.

as a delay addict I have a few thoughts… Analog Delays: Moog [what ever one you can find cheapest], Endangered Audio Research, Lunar Echo. I think the Memory Man Deluxe with Tap Tempo is pretty awesome too. http://www.endangeredaudioresearch.com/ad4096-analog-delay/ http://www.dmbpedals.com/#!pedals...

midi sync clock help!

Greetings guys, I'm running logic pro x with an Apollo duo. I'm doing a project where I am tracking a Machinedrum and a MonoMachine and live instruments. The clocks on the Elektron gear are deviating so wildly that the click tracks are only in sync about 10% of the time. To get the timing to be in s...

Re: BreakTweaker: Future Beat Machine

And it's funny cause this is basically THE SAME Elektron box in software and it's corny. It's the sample layer and the synthesis engine..... Plus the grain.... distortion effects... Sweepable waves..... off-beat rhythms... Multiple outs..... Like I couldn't make the same old, same old beats/music i...

Re: New Elektron Machine

All joking aside, I don't know anyone who's clamoring for that elektron sound . I see interest in the functionally and features. This is sort of true. Yes, the UI is what constantly pulls me in to use their gear. I am weighing an A4 keys or just the standard version. I want to be able to use their ...

Re: New Elektron Machine

well if we are in pure speculation mode, a keyboard A4 would be ridiculous.
I still regret not picking up the Keyboard MnM when I've had the chances over the years.
