Yo Lyle? If this is you...Its Joe...The Mpc can read midi files, so if you saved your protools as a midi file you should be able to upload it in the MPC....I would get the 1000 only because of the JJ up grade and the screen on the 500 is small for live use ( just my opinion )...Hope all is well with...

The best thing about the JP4 was because of it being monophonic you could CV/Gate it and damn it has some great bass lines...I've found 2 JP's and 3 Sigma's over the years...
