Boston, MA synth repair
Who is good at fixing analog synths in Boston? The envelope doesn't always trigger on my Roland Promars.

Re: MC-202 / TR-606 won't sync properly
I thought of that. I switched to an ac adapter and it still does the same thing. Does anyone know how to set the total step time on the 202 or 606? They're behaving like I imagine they would if they were 24ppqn and 32ppqn

MC-202 / TR-606 won't sync properly
Why won't these two (202 and 606) sync properly anymore. They used to work just fine, but now the eighth note on on doesn't equal the eighth on the other. When using the 606 as the master, an 8th on the drum machine is 32 on the 202, whereas it should be 24.

Re: Tips for making original and creative music with synths
On notation, sometimes you just need to have a paragraph or five with the score explaining your custom arpeggio settings or what have you.

Re: Tips for making original and creative music with synths
To standardize the notation of synthesizer music, you need to standardize the synthesizer. In other words, not every synth can play, because of differences in instrument design, a piece written for another synth. Also, you can't play all synth music on a keyboard. And coming up with new notation is ...

Re: Dumbest thing you've ever heard someone say about synths
A drummer accused my Alesis MMT-8 and my Poly-800 Sequencer of not keeping steady beats / timing. I guess the Poly-800 might drift, but the MMT-8 is perfect.

you're not going to get clavinet out of a Korg Mono/Poly. One vcf and vca envelope serves all four voices.

I sold an Akai VX90 to jcn7. Jaime is a great person, understanding when I had a health problem that interrupted communication and shipping for a little while.

Re: Resist buying, save up for the big one
"Oh s@#t yes, I can very much relate to this. Haven't really been as musically "free" and inspired quite like when I used just 1 synth" I've kind of realized I don't need every sound on my sonic palette I could possibly have by having lots of synths. I had gradually amassed lots of synths and so I'v...
