Re: Kiwi 3P for my JX3P
I've done it. It is rather easy to do from a soldering standpoint. It also gives the synth a lot of additional functionality. I'd suggest getting a hardware controller/programmer like the Behringer BCR2000 to go with it. As programming is limited to the original buttons, it gets like of confusing fr...

Re: 1986 KORG DS-8... Quite Surprised!
For those of you that replaced the display, do you recall what pin out adjustments had to be made to get the new displays to work?
I thought I had it figured out, but no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Roland Juno 106 - no sound, unresponsive.
You've already been warned. So, if you are throwing caution to the wind, checking that the power supply is generating the right DC voltages would be a first step. Page 18 of the Service Manual shows where the test points are. But you really do need to be careful. This must be done with the synth on,...

Re: Korg Polysix additional storage board? And resonance iss
I did the KiwiSix mod, both the power supply and digital board. It is fairly easy to do, fixes all of the issues from a battery leak and adds functionality without changing the character of the synth.
I liked that it was a complete package kit that is reasonably easy to install. I'd recommend it.

Re: Oberheim Matrix 6
The price seems to be pretty average. I would say it is not a "don't miss" opportunity. If you want to spend the time fixing it and really like the synth, maybe this is the deal for you. If you are going to pay someone to fix it, plan on spending several hundred dollars more, which probably keeps it...

Re: Yamaha TX802 Powering Questions
Nice synth.
The manual says 15W.
You will be safe at 100W rating on the transformer.
(Cell phone charges generally kick out 5 volts. So, 5 volts at 1amp would be 5W.)

Re: Swing on tr707 maximum
What? Roland swing delays each even-numbered 1/16th note. Swing on Roland drum machines does not shift the down beats, where you would expect the kick. We need a track as an example of what you are trying to accomplish. There were no DAW for most of the acid house movement. Tracks were recorded live...

Just a note: D1 and R1 are not present on the circuit board of the Poly 800 with the backup battery. There are holes for them, but no components.

Re: Korg Poly 800 wont turn on after battery replacment
I'm working on repairing a power supply of a Poly 800 right now. My problem was more obvious, D2 was burnt and Q1 had a crack in it (hopefully that is the end of the problems). I have ordered the parts and can get you what you need as I had to purchase more than I need for my project (pm me if inter...

Re: Expertise needed on finding a Synth
What about the lower end Sequential synths? A Prophet 600 might be at the top of your price range. It is a nice synth with the teensy upgrade. I've owned, but never been a big fan of, the MultiTrak/SixTrak/Split-8. But you might like them. They are all analog, but only one osc per voice and not the ...

Re: Trying to fixed FaderMaster
You could get something smaller. They sell tiny brushes for cleaning between teeth next to the dental floss. I bet you could get one of those in the gap. Also, you could de-solder the sliders and then open then up to clean them. If that did not work, you could just replace the sliders. Have you chec...

It is probably as simple as the slider being dirty. Try spraying it out with some deoxit. - Micah

Re: Roland 909 Day
I totally agree with they output issue. I looked at the Tr-8 for my 909 fix. Before really getting into the sound, the lack of individual outputs had me pass.
