Re: Happy Christmas, love from Arturia

They just killed Analog synths....drum machines.....controllers....what's left?. WHAT? I love my MiniBrute and MicroBrute and now my DrumBrute. I'd love a MatrixBrute, but not sure it's worth $2k. Damn fine synth, though. I kind of read that to mean the opposite - that they are "killing it" making ...

2. "Rather than going from C to C octaves though, this new instrument is laid out from E to E so that guitarists, bassists and other musicians always have quick access to a low E note" Dude, basses with more than 4 strings go down to low B. Low E ain't low enough! Why not just come out and sa...

Re: Thrift store find.

I guess the days when someone could find a Jupiter-8 w/ case for $200 are long gone. I try to stay hopeful, but probably. Case in point: Last week I pulled a fully functioning (save for 2 wiggly black keys) SK-1 out of the electronics bin at the town recycling center. :D I try to bring e-waste ever...

Re: Hammond Auto-Vari 64 Drum Module Project

Thanks for the input cornutt. For my own purposes, I'm building a desktop unit primarily for use with my BeatStep Pro, so the 1/8" triggers were going in no matter what. Since I wanted to add versatility (and future sale value), I was originally wondering what the "drum synth" standard currently was...

Re: Model D, P6, TR-626 - together?

...The beatstep pro is another great sequencer... +1 to that. Was also going to suggest this one. It can run MIDI to your drums, and CV/Gate to the MM, plus one more monosynth/module down the road via either control. Love my BSP! I run analog & digital drums simultaneously, and drones/sequences on ...

Re: Hammond Auto-Vari 64 Drum Module Project

OK. I've wired up all 11 voices. Here's a brief "proof of concept" video with the results: https://youtu.be/YXu3Ndh4FeA I've got some other plans in store, so it will be a while before I build this into a finished box. Once I check this board against a known working unit, I'll make the required twea...

Hammond Auto-Vari 64 Drum Module Project

Not sure if this is a big deal, but it is for me. I just finished figuring out how to trigger the Auto-Vari 64 voicing board so I can turn it into a module! I'm so excited, and think this is the only place (esp. at 3am) that I could tell anybody who might give a $#!T. Anybody around here would be li...

Re: Random Synth Manual Humor

Some may not be meant to be amusing, or knee-slappers, but I got a chuckle that somebody felt they needed inclusion. Vermona DRM1 MkIII: "This product was introduced many years ago but the DRM1 is still being produced. Why? There are still musicians that do not own this product." "To completely disc...

Re: Arturia Matrixbrute

Way too expensive for me as a hobbyist, especially before enough time has passed to determine how reliable it is. Just the number of illuminated buttons for the matrix is a potential reliability nightmare. I've never spent that kind of money for a synth myself, but it's certainly on my radar. I lov...

Printable Patch Sheets

Just thought I'd share these with everyone. Whenever I have any synths without patch memory, I make some kind of sheet that I can copy down my settings, and have a visual reference for future use. Here are links to the ones that I have created for my gear: DRM1 MkIII http://www.dogstardigital.com/sy...

Re: Help with this offer? Should I buy?

I just got one of their demo items, and they shipped quickly and double boxed it. All factory items were included, and it was in mint condition as advertised - looked like it was never touched.

Re: Arturia Matrixbrute

Rumor has it that it'll be $1700-$1800? Or so I've heard... Really? That would be quite a surprise to me. I was thinking $2,999 or thereabouts (maybe $3,500). I mean, look at it, man! it's basically a Moog Voyager on steroids! I have mixed feelings on this. It LOOKS like a $2,999+ synth, but ...

Re: Analog Gear Setup

Any advice on a simple audio interface ? I guess that regarding my needs, I would just need one line entry and two outputs (one for my monitors and the other for a tape recorder that I would like to use... or should I just connect this directly from the mixer?) Just a thought… and you can take from...
