Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread

sold a roland mks80 rev4 to TheMindOfPat. very patient buyer despite the slightly complicated arrangement: item was shipped from here in the philippines to detroit (4 days!) and i dont do paypal. i havent heard from him since right after he got the mks, so i guess this works as a vote for me as a se...

Re: What got you into synths?

at first it was new wave/synth pop (which is most age appropriate for me) : the intro to new order's "thieves like us", depeche mode, talktalk, hungry like the wolf, even kim wilde's "tuning in, tuning on", the huge portamento on devo's "its not right" later it was pink floyd on "welcome to the mach...

Re: The One(s) That Got Away

found a tb-303 in a guitar shop fully working, just gathering dust in the store window. talked them down to $50. sold. didnt do much with it as all i had to hook it up to was a tr-606 (also bought for $50). 303 just stopped working one day although it would still turn on and the keys worked...just n...

Re: cant give away sh101 and sh2 for love or money

i should have expected so many people would reply with offers...maybe i did ;) anyway let me assess the condition of the synths more thoroughly, figure out price and shipping cost and email everyone who inquired privately, and maybe put it up in the classifieds. my 101 looks almost exactly like this...

cant give away sh101 and sh2 for love or money

this is more a seller's concern i guess but here goes.. i have a roland sh101 and sh2, not mint but not terribly beat up. they work ok for the most part but they do have some issues. now if i was in the US i could simply put them on ebay with no reserve and let the market sort out the price so to sp...

Re: Worst.. hardware sequencer.. EVER

have to chime in on the kawai q-80 love...i have the q-80ex, which adds a 2nd midi out and smf compatibility. its pretty easy to move midi files from cubase via floppy. all you have to do is set each track to repeat and set the midi output assignment. 32 tracks live at all times! if it had 32 dedica...

Re: Yamaha's Drum Machines

i bought my ry20 mainly for something to bang around with while watching tv etc but its pretty handy to have around, velocity sensitive rubber pads, not too bad sounds, fx (tempo delay!), mute buttons, and you can change groove/swing settings while its playing. and i love how there's an intro sectio...

Re: sh101 on the fritz

Yea you may want to check the cv jack for some sort of short. will do but im thinking a short would only affect pitch tracking via midi-->cv. that wouldnt explain why the keyboard wont change pitches either, would it? when you put the sh101 into self oscillation does the filter track they keys? no ...

Re: sh101 on the fritz

By throbbing, do you mean pitch modulation? Is each oscillator actually producing pitch? Can you mix in noise? By midi, I assume you mean the CV input from a converter. I had an issue with mine where the CV input had a cold solder joint, and this caused pitch to freak out at random, with either key...

sh101 on the fritz

its still making a sound but not anything useful...just a throbbing in time to the lfo, everything else seems to work--envelopes, lfo, arp, etc--but it wont emit notes in pitch to the keyboard or via midi. its slowly coming back to life like its trying to clear its throat. any ideas what component i...

thinking of getting rid of all the keys in my sig (except the cz5000 which is way too big and not worth it) dont get too excited though, i'm in the philippines and theyre not in pristine condition so to be a good deal it'll have to be somewhere close like australia or new zealand. just considering m...
