Any VSEr's with a MnM and six-trak...

I would like to know from anyone who has attempted using a monomachine to control a SCI Six-Trak what kind of results they might have had, in particular in using the parameter locks. I am interested in acquiring a monomachine in part for this purpose; however having searched the elektron forums, the...

Re: SP-303 - SmartMedia to USB converter

Duly noted and I stand corrected... For whatever reason I was getting it confused with the SP-202 which does utilize the 5V variety... sorry for the misinformation; glad someone was paying better attention than I :-|

Re: SP-303 - SmartMedia to USB converter

For what it's worth.. The SP-303 used an older (read: probably the oldest) version of smartmedia cards that were made, which means not only that the amount of memory must be small for compatibilty, but the voltage ratings are different... Therefore, those adapters that work with the electribe that a...

Re: Why can't anyone release a small VA with analog filters ?
I'm pretty sure the Spectralis has only the single pair of analogue filters in a single dedicated voice. Very hard to figure out from Spectralis website, but polyphony is only mentioned in the context of a second DSP based sound engine. The one voice with the analogue filters is h...

Re: Why can't anyone release a small VA with analog filters ?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe someone has released a small VA with analog filters. In fact, Radikal Technologies is managing to keep producing the Spectralis, now in second generation form.

Re: Akai AX60 schematics / service manual needed

This may sound unrelated, but may provide ideas. I have recently been looking for these very scans/schematics myself: in doing a multiple output mod on my six-trak, I thought it would be useful to follow with an input mod, but having found no plans available any longer, I seearched for Ax60 schemati...

Re: E-MU Command Station sequencer questions

1. I have not made use of song mode so at present cannot comment on this; hopefully I'll have a chance to experiment and see if I can shed some light here later. 2. This was a sore point for me as well, and has prompted me to make some convoluted midi routings in order to have a device that controls...

Re: MIDI Channel questions...can it be done?

It seems to me that piggy wants the Mopho to respond to more than one of the patterns from a setup on the micron, but not all of them, i.e. some patterns only triggering micron sounds. However, with the mopho set to one channel, it will only respond to one pattern from the micron. This is because of...
4 comb filters? Never knew the micron had cool s**t on board.
It's a capable machine, and although it's often dismissed as a tiny version of the ion, it really isn't. For instance, you can't create a setup in the ion involving 32 different timbres. Akai missed quite an ...

Re: MS2000/microkorg style arpeggiator..elsewhere?

Right, real time alterations of arpeggiation steps is specifically what I seek. Thanks for teh suggestion of Motif, however I'm not so sure if switching between arp types would suit my purposes, since I require exact control over which steps will play when, as the arp plays. Still seems like it will...

MS2000/microkorg style arpeggiator..elsewhere?

I'm interested in finding out if there exists a keyboard with an arpeggiator which transmits MIDI that has step on/off button control as on the microkorg. Of most interest would be if the arpeggiator includes note assign mode rather than just the up, down, up/down, random, chord types. I have done a...

Re: woo i finally snagged a sequential circuits six trak!

A great resource for Six-Trak users is NoteIt's SCI site: http://www.geocities.com/soho/2163/sc.html In particular for some of the questions left unresolved on this thread, the Six-Trak operation page makes for excellent reference for all those number-pad-accessed features: http://www.geocities.com/...

Re: what is your take on vector synthesis

Alesis micron is capable of both vector synthesis and wavesequencing. Really, any VA or analog synth with >= 4 part multitimbrality and assignable midi cc to part levels can technically acheive vector synthesis (see caveat below). If the joystick is a prerequisite, a controller such as bitstream 3x ...

Re: RS-7000, any good for x0x-style sequencing?

One difference between the RS7000 and RM1x that some find important, some couldn't seem to care less about, is that you can record patterns and save them, etc. without stopping the sequencer if you have the latest OS installed. The same is true for the EMU command stations. The new generation electr...
