Re: Synthesizers for linux

U-he.com are porting to linux, there's a thread on their forum. Also, discodsp have some of their stuff ported to Linux.

Loomer Aspect is a nice synth too. Get it from www.loomer.co.uk.

Re: How many hardware synths do you own?

Alas, none. I've been taking a time-out and I got rid. Even in software I only have two synths - Loomer Aspect and FM8.

My interest is returning though, and at some point I'd like to get back into hardware, except it will be an informed choice and certainly no more than one or two quality devices.

Re: Why iOS audio apps are better than Android ones?

I don't think it's a high priority for google. The android market is for people who consume stuff, not for people who actually use their tablets productively. I suspect the average android user just wants to do facebook and whatever the latest line 'em up and zap 'em game variant is. Yes, and the lo...

I'm wondering why this is in software and not general.

Sounds like a bit of software design to me :ugeek:

Re: Heart/Brain of your setup?

I don't have any hardware at the moment except for my laptop and a small midi keyboard. I'm going to correct that situation at some point!

So for me, it's all about renoise right now.

Yamaha - a replacement for the an1x. With lots of knobs and better filters and ... stuff
Waldorf - an actual thing.
U-he / Native Instruments / D16 / Fabfilter / Camelaudio / (etc etc) - anything for linux
