Re: Octave Kitten

'snot. you have the more-ferior machine. The Kitten may be more rare, but sonically less diverse than The Cat. I would love to see some real data on the revs of the Cat (from the first version all the way to the SRM), online info seems inaccurate and mangled. man i wish mine wasnt in the shop right ...

a couple rules: 1.) this ive found to be universally true forever and always: every new synth you play will be instantly inspiring; its unfamiliar and therefore exciting and fresh. its like a woman. make sure you remember that. 2.) in about 1996, i bought my second k2x and began making programs for ...

that Synergy II+ was mine. It actually had MIDI and worked fairly well, it just wasnt for me. The sound is very FM and digital, although i was amazed at the level of expressiveness achieved with just velocity. Some of the electric piano sounds and strings were really really alive, moreso than ive ev...

you should also investigate the Casio FZ series. despite the cheap look, they are extremely comprehensive. you can even draw waveforms on the screen, much like you can with the Roland S-50 and other synths of that time. the sampler is actually decent. also, the vz/cz series are extremely good. you m...

I have had an S1mk2 for about 8 months now. It certainly compliments my synths well, and judging by your sig, it might be a good fit. some things i love about it: 1.) it makes sounds without cables. very inspiring. sometimes i let my 5 year old turn the knobs and see what comes out. yes, this makes ...

"he also had something called an obermoog." ----uhm no. not until ~5 years later. i dont even think he has this anymore, even though he called it the "f**k greatest synth ever" His gearlist was specific during the PHM era: prophet vs (broken) emu emax (likely the model 2 with built in synth engine) ...
