Yamaha PS-20 Keyboard - Specs / DIY Modification Help

Hi guys, First I've not been on VSE for a good five years.. so hi again! Now.. So I've done a bit of circuit bending and synth mods before, but always in the case where someone else had done things previously that I could copy either through pictures or guides. My most successful was probably a Boss...

Re: Poll: how do you feel about pirated/cracked DAW software

It kinda depends... I think there are so many different ways to approach this issue, as a company and a user. I like what cycling 74 do with max, 30 day un-limited trial. but that's also annoying. I like the whole 'live lite' thing. That's great. I think it's fine to try something before you buy it,...

Re: New Arturia something at Messe?

Just a wandering thought but... perhaps something with which to use the beatstep? A synth? Maybe in module format rather than having a keyboard? Not sure hmm...

Honestly, with all the gear you have, I'd say -
Spend the money on drugs and lock yourself in the studio for a few days

Re: SOFTWARE REVOLUTION

Down with software! Everyone I know here (australia) uses computers. They think I'm quite strange. I think the trouble (as it always is), is that democratizing the music making process, leads to an inundation of stupid people with powerful tools. Just like moving from vinyl to digital releases. Just...

Re: Midi Switch

Yep. and if your synths only have midi in and out, most of the time the 'out' can also act as a thru. poorass bonehead tech hacks 101 - if your gear only has an 'in' port - make a midi cable that has one plug at one end, and 2 plugs at the other end. You can only ever use the single end on an 'out' ...

Re: New DSI Mopho 4 Voice Synth Announced

Well, at least you get some decent interface with it. I owned the tetra and it was ridiculously un-fun to edit. I want to like dave smith, he seems to be a nice guy and well into synths, but all my experiences with his products have been not very fun. They're kinda 'keyboardist' synths, in my experi...

Re: thoughts on the rocket vs monotribe

rockets can take people to the moon whereas a monotribe is a rant like a diatribe except half as interesting.

Korg spells corn if you change the K for a c and the g for an n.

Re: Bass Station 2 knob modes?

They both seem to be 'understood' by the OS, as parameters, so most of the work is done. Hopefully they could totally add them as un-labelled functions: EG : keytrack - hold 'function' and turn the filter overdrive knob. knob mode - hold 'function' and use one of the env select/etc sliding switches

Bass Station 2 knob modes?

Hey guys.. Just bought a basstation 2. Awesome synth! Just wondering if there's a way to change the knob mode to 'pickup' - ie, if you load a new preset, the parameter doesn't change until you hit the current value. - very helpful in a live setting. Novation have included this in synths of the past,...
