Re: synth bongo identification
I actually have a set of Mica Sonics, buried Lord knows where in storage ... Walkathon - do you still have that set of Mica Sonics? I'm trying to find a set for a very special drum project! Hiya James, yeah they're in storage somewhere. Sorry for the delay, been off of here for ages. Still need them?

Re: Akai S612 Sound Library Archive Project.
Hello all, I purchased the XD-280 from Dani, and am really enjoying it so far. I also own a fairly healthy S612 QD library, but am having a dilly of a time trying to digitize these. :( I've tried wineskinning both Sampler Dumper and Sample Wrench, and neither have been able to fully suck in a sample...

Re: 360 Systems Keyboard samples?
Never have, but certainly wouldn't mind having that.
BTW, I'm eternally grateful for Kehew for posting that demo. Every time I'm tempted to buy one, I listen to that and realize I have zero need for it. The mellow brass patch is admittedly nice, but doable elsewhere.

Re: Can't load Moog Source patches via cassette interface
Thx much for the feedback. These are mp3's, so maybe that's at play. I'll report back for future generations when I've got time to dig in again.

Can't load Moog Source patches via cassette interface
Argh, it's drivin' me batty, mateys. A kind VSE member recently sent me copies of the Devo / Jan Hammer et al Moog Source patches from back in the day, but I've yet to successfully load them into my Source. I've tried 2 different 5-pin cables (5-pin to 1/4", 5-pin to 1/8"), had the stereo plugs inse...

YMMV but *might* add the Technics WSA1 and General Music S2R to this thread.

Re: 80's era Howard Jones equipment?
Heh, sincere apologies for resurrecting a 6 yr old thread, but none more relevant to my question ... "What is Love?" just shuffled up, and was trying to determine the drums. According to this thread, it's a Drumulator. Can anyone verify? The limited time I spent w/ one, didn't immediately identify i...

Re: Portishead + Space Echo tech question
Heh, yeah, I'm a hardware guy (though in a strange middle ground right now, switching very late in the game to Logic). Sorry, should've clarified in my original post, guess an fx loop is the only way ... was just curious if I was somehow missing a way input/output balance directly on the 201. Thx fo...

Portishead + Space Echo tech question
Here's an excerpt from the excellent R Is for Roland book, Geoff Barrow (in this case: "Goeff") mentions his/their work w/ Space Echos. I've got a 201 - of which the band owns many - and don't know how to replicate this particular technique ... specifically, only returning the echo tape head sound, ...

Re: Yamaha VSS-30....wow
Agreed, the VSS-30 never fails to inspire.
The overdubbing feature alone destroys the SK-1 and its ilk (which admittedly I also love).
