Re: Sending Patches to the Korg N1r

OK, I've been playing around w/ the N1/N5 SoundEditor for Windows and that's allowing me to send and receive single patches. I'm also building banks w/ it. Still haven't determined why I can't send .syx messages, but it's something I can work around by using the editor.

Sending Patches to the Korg N1r

I picked up a Korg N1r for cheap the other day, but it's frustrating me to no end. I was trying to send a .syx patch bank file to the thing the other night, but wasn't having any success. All of the boxes were unchecked on the "Global" page and that little MIDI light flickered when the data was sent...

Audio Cables for Eventide H3000

I've got an Eventide H3000 on the way but was wondering what kind of audio cables I should use. The H3000 has XLRs for inputs and outputs and I was planning going directly out from my synths. Here is my planned setup: Synth -> H3000 -> Delta 88 (audio interface) Does anyone know if a standard XLR to...

Re: Do i need a di box for pedals?

I use one of those Whirlwind attenuators when running synths through guitar pedals

synth -> attenuator -> pedal(s) -> audio interface

Has worked well for me so far, but your mileage may vary

Microwave II/XT/XTk Patch Question

I was reading the manual to my Microwave II the other night and it mentioned the option of loading Microwave I patches. From what I gathered, this was only possible for single patches and not banks. The problem is the only Microwave I patches I could find were banks and not singles. Can anyone help ...

Re: Recommend Me a Chorus Box

I'm still in that honeymoon period w/ the CE-300 where I want to use it on everything. So far, I like it best when used w/ the Matrix 1000. And it makes VAs sound sound far less sterile. But I want one of those analogman pedals now as well.

Re: Recommend Me a Chorus Box

Just bought the CE-300 Super Chorus. I'm also gonna keep my eyes open for the SDX-330. Thanks for all the help everyone!

Re: Recommend Me a Chorus Box

My budget is $200-$250 (I think the PolyChorus is right around $200). EH Stereo Clone Theory + Boss CE-300...both excellent suggestions. Jeez, I might have to go on a chorus bender. And I would prefer a pedal, but a rack mount is OK. As far as sound goes, I'm looking for something "lush" if that's h...

Recommend Me a Chorus Box

I’ve got a chorus itch I need to scratch. I’m looking for an analog pedal for use w/ synths and so far these are on the wish list: MXR M134 Stereo Chorus Pedal EH Stereo Polychorus Any other recommendations? If money were no object, I would look into getting the Élkorus. Or if I was more handy w/ th...

Re: Optigan/ M-Tron/ SK-1 help!

Check out the "Shoptigan" page as well. There is a great sample CD called the "Optigan/Orchestron/Talentmaker Optical Organ Toolkit" that has both .wav and Akai sample sets for all of the Optigan discs ever made (and some prototypes). And it's only $100.00, which is a great deal for all the stuff yo...

Re: E-mu Morpheus

I bought a Morpheus last year for $150.00 off of Craigslist. It came w/ a VHS tape from E-mu that I digitized and uploaded for anyone interested. If anything, it proves doucebags are timeless. But if you can get past the on camera talent, there's a lot of good information in the clips. http://www.wi...

Re: Wavestation patches

I've been frustrated many times by the Wavestation's OS and its clunky "performance" structure. If you're copying performances between banks, you have to make sure and keep track of all the dependencies -- which probably means firing up Excel and kicking it spreadsheet style. I recently purchased th...
