Re: Yamaha RX5: DIY enclosure for GliGli's RX5USB

This looks excellent; I'd never even heard about these things. I might have to try one in my RX5...I haven't powered it up for a long time but this makes more use of it.

Nice work on the case. :drinks:

Re: Sequencing midi cc from Roland mc 500

You certainly can. I used to use it a lot with effects units from my MC 500 but that was eons ago. It should be easy with the manual...just can't remember off the top of my head!

Re: s950 floppy drive replacement

I thought about going the HxC route but I still have a lot of stuff on floppy disk...I'll still need to get the samples off. Mine is currently still working so maybe I should be doing that!

Re: New to Roland MC-500 advanced questions

SuperMRC was the software for the MC-500 MkII. The MRP was designed for performance and so it was used so settings could be saved for ease of use live. Not sure it will be so useful to you though!

Re: New to Roland MC-500 advanced questions

It's been a long time since I used mine but I seem to remember that you had to use the Super-MRP software to save the info that you want. I'll have to dig mine out.

That's a great introduction to making a drum kit on the S1000. I remember doing it on the S950 so long ago!

Re: Syquest Drives / Disk compatibility (resolved)

Like Zip and Jaz, Syquest were ok but over time had quite a high failure rate. I've lost count of how many of each type of drive have just packed up and stopped working but then you get lucky and get one that works and works. I have a Zip drive for example that I've used for 19 years and is still fi...
