Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread
I bought a Novation X-station from BlackGnosis, trade went smoothly. He answered all questions, had excellent packaging, and quick shipping. I have no complaints at all, thanks BlackGnosis.

Ensoniq Halo for $125 get it?
I don't know much about the synth if you could you really call it that, besides from what I've read on the VSE synth review page. Is it worth getting at this price? I currently don't have a "ROMpler" just an alesis micron.

Re: Yamaha CS-5 $350 go for it?
I just checked out the Yamaha CS-5 and I have to admit at first it was a bit of a challenge to get a pleasing sound out of it and it was slightly intimidating to use. I was in a dimly lit studio room though, so it was kind of hard to see what I was doing. This would also be the first time I've playe...

Re: Yamaha CS-5 $350 go for it?
It's a shame, I can't find any good demos on youtube for the CS-5, but I'm planning on checking it out soon. If you guys have any good demos of the CS-5 feel free to post them here. I'd greatly appreciate it.

Yamaha CS-5 $350 go for it?
Apparently I can get a mint condition Yamaha CS-5 for $350 is this a good deal? Also, what do you guys think about the Yamaha CS-5 compared to other mono-synths in the same price range? Thanks.

Re: Realistic Concertmate Moog MG-1
Oh.. sorry I never really understood what contacts and pots were but that makes sense now.. Sorry, for the ignorance haha.. I've been watching Automatic Gainsay's videos on the MG-1 seems like a really neat synth. Quite impressed actually.. Now I just need to know if I overpaid for the synth.

Re: Realistic Concertmate Moog MG-1
I asked the seller if he could get any sounds to come out by constantly pressing the keys, and he said seven of the keys didn't make any noise. Could it still be possible that the contacts or pots are just dirty? Also, why do you say it would be an interesting fix? Are these hard to fix? Hope not.. ...

Realistic Concertmate Moog MG-1
What do you guys think about this synth? I personally think it sounds pretty cool, but I'm not that familiar with mono-analog synths. I hear sometimes people say it's not really a Moog cause it was made for Radioshack. I just won it for $330 shipped but, seems the contacts or pots are dirty cause it...

Re: Best synth you can buy for $500?
do i dare suggest the jx-8p again? yes. it's just good value for money! no knobs or sliders though. reviewing the an1x, the yamaha is hard to beat. what about alpha juno 1 or 2's or a jx-3p? cheap and dirty is their thing. you can get dx7s for pretty cheap too. I had a Juno 2 with a PG-300 for a wh...

Re: Best synth you can buy for $500?
Sequencer not necessary, want good poly, would like analog but it's not expected, or necessary, knobs+sliders would be nice as well. Prefer a lo-fi type of sound, dirty, and with character. Nothing that sounds too clean. Most importantly I'm looking for good value, thanks. Right now, I'm looking aro...

Re: Best synth you can buy for $500?
there's a zillion ways to get cool electronic sounds for under $500 bucks. you could be MUCH better off buying an fx processor instead of a synth! but how am I supposed to know this it's your music - use your imagination.....get what will be complimentary rather than redundant Could you name some g...

Best synth you can buy for $500?
Curious to what you guys think is the best synth for $500 or below? I see JP8000, Alesis Ion, Korg MS2000, all in the $400ish price range. I'd like lots of knobs as well, but isn't absolutely necessary and don't mind vintage at all. I already have an Alesis Micron, so maybe getting the Ion would be ...
