Re: Best Software to create beats

I like cubase quite a lot, but pro tools is just as good. If your on a mac logic is supposed to be good, although Ive never used it. Ableton Live is pretty good as well. Just learn something; choosing one isn't as important as just learning how to create what you want to. If you want to make beats y...

Good Modern String Synthesis

Anyone know good softsynths that produce relatively natural sounding strings? I'm also looking for good synth horn sounds. Not samples mind you, just synths.

Using guitar output for synths

I was wondering if anyone had tried using the output from a a plucked guitar string and used it as the wave for an modulating envelope? If so, what programs did you use? Im sure its possible to do in reaktor, but I honestly dont understand dsp well enough to make anything. The programs I have dont a...

Automating arp2600 and guitar rig via cubase

Ive been trying to figure out how to automate switches and dials in guitar rig and Arturias arp 2600, but to no avail. I have no problem with reaktor, but I just cant figure out where to have cubase send the midi information. Is it not possible to do with these programs?

Led Zeppelin In the Light Synth Tone

Im trying to replicate both the lead and deep pad sounds in in the light. Im trying a minimoog and an arp2600 on for size and I can get *kind of* close with a couple of slightly detuned sawtooths and heavy delay. Im finding that the higher registers are not scaling properly for the sound I want, but...

If you are planning on getting one, I would advise buying the emx instead. Its a newer version

Rs7000 voice question

I just acquired an Rs7000 several days ago and I am still trying to work out a few things. Its very intuitive and I have figured out almost everything. But I am still curious if there is a way to create new voice using the synth engine, or if I can make new sounds by combining the different waves, k...

Ok, so heres where I am. Im kind of torn between the emx and the RS7000. I have the opportunity to get an RS7000 for $500 (fully upgraded memory) as well as an emx for around $400 (its on ebay at 375 right now).

Is the RS7K worth an extra $100?

Thanks for the quick replies! Anyway, yes, Im switching from softsynths mainly because of the interface, and secondly for the sound. Im not looking for one box to to replace every synth on the planet; I just want something that I can start off with and still be able to use after I buy some more adva...

Electribe EMX

So, I am fairly new to synth in general (I have been working with software synths for a while and Im getting fed up with them) and Im looking for a good first synth. I stumbled across the electebe emx which looks like a pretty good all in one package. I have listened to some of the demos and Im not ...

Good first (analog) synth

I have had a wavestation for a while, which I absolutely love, and I was looking for a good analog synth to go along with it. I was first looking at the juno-106, but the chip problem it has isn't something I want to deal with and its sounds were too limited for me. Any suggestions?

Ye know, Ive been fooling around with a VST version of the 60 ( I don't know how true to the analog it is having never heard it in person) and I just cant get enough sounds out of it to justify spending the cash on it = / Maybe thats just me. However, I really love what I can get out of the Wavestat...

Thanks for the answers guys, very helpful. And yes Cfernn, I am aware of the chip problem but its something that I am willing to take on. My question now though, is how difficult is it to hook up the 106 to a software arpeggiator? I'd rather not have to spend time fumbling around every time I wanted...
