I really like that-some excellent sounds and atmosphere.
Would definitely work well in a film.

Re: Musicianship and electronic music
I started learning about synths and using them in the early 80s. I still play everything myself, have hardly ever used MIDI and never a computer and am alone amongst my musician friends in this respect, but that is just the way I prefer to work and compose. I would not say that I am a wonderfully prof...

I have met Sean and Liz from X&O several times in London over the years and they are lovely people, always willing to chat about synths & music.

Re: Bedroom Cassette Masters 1980-89 Volume One
I am really enjoying this! Thanks very much for posting and of course for curating. It was amusing for me as a fellow bedroom synthesist of the 80s(and beyond!) to read the equipment list and see the same bits and pieces that I had in my collection mentioned over and over! Love the booklet too. Great...

Re: Amazing new app: Samplr
I bought this app as soon as I read about it on Synthtopia-it has amazing creative possibilities.
I am confident that the developer will update a few things here and there as time goes on,but for now at this bargain price it is a must-have in my opinion.

Re: Geoff Barrow from Portishead-new synth project
So glad you guys are enjoying the album-when they played in the store the volume was very loud but crystal clear,so the frequencies just went straight through my body and the whole experience was pretty intense. They told me that they hope to maybe develop the live show and do it elsewhere-this was ...

Geoff Barrow from Portishead-new synth project
Last night I had the extreme pleasure of attending the debut performance by Geoff Barrow and Ben Salisbury of their "soundtrack" to Mega City One. It was a vintage synth drool-fest with no less than THREE Oberheim Two Voice synths,a Juno 60 ,Korg 700s and sequential Drumtraks. Needless to say the so...

Re: The dude who made up his own Miami Vice-Like Music
It sounds like Multipac to me-I have been a big fan of his for years and luckily downloaded all his early music when he made it available briefly on Myspace years ago. I still play it a lot and loved the warm, nostalgic feel of his work-plus he put together some great Miami Vice montage vids too! Com...

Re: "Electronic Encounters"-music inspired by CE3K,free down
Thanks for listening! I realise that "Believe" does sound extremely minimal in regards to melody and does not have many sounds in it,but I felt it was nevertheless 'complete',as far as I was concerned anyway! There are some very interesting pieces on the album, some of them by personal friends ...

"Electronic Encounters"-music inspired by CE3K,free download
Last year,I was asked to contribute to a collection of new electronic music inspired by the legendary film "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". A varied collection of contemporary electronic musicians each produced a piece, which was co-ordinated by Kev Oyston, who records under the name "Soulless Pa...

Re: Which bands use hardware synths?
One of my favourite bands is Xeno and Oaklander, from Brooklyn,NY. I have seen them live and they are quite amazing-all analogue synths. Here is a short but very interesting docu from Motherboard TV. http://motherboard.vice.com/2010/1/20/electric-independence-xeno-and-oaklander-a-short-documentary-on...
