Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread
Bought a EHX Bass Micro Synth pedal & Boss Phaser pedal from Suburban Bather . Price was cheap, he threw in an extra AC adapter, and shipped super quick! Thanks! Thank you for helping me maintain my Eurocrack addiction  Yep, I'd rather give a great deal to someone on this board than use Ebay. ...

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!
Well, considering people are now paying 10k for Synthi's, that's not that bad really. There wasn't too many of these made don't forget, and it's undoubtably the king of Roland mono's, need I say more ;) I just don't think that this system could possibly have such a unique sound to be worth the aski...

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!
Absolutely, positively, 100% ridiculous!! $15k for a basic modular system that is prone to have issues any moment, no thanks! If I was going to drop 15 large on a modular, I'd take a new Serge or Buchla system over that without even thinking about it.space6oy wrote:

Re: Do you aknowledge the importance of dance music
Arguing over the importance of a genre of music is pointless. You either like it or not. Here is a good doc. on Detroit techno, enjoy- http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... +tech+soul

Re: 1st synthesizer
ESQ-1 hands down, but for a first synth you would be better off with something that has more control on the surface. A used JP-8000, Alesis Ion, Novation Nova, Korg MS-2000, or an MFB Synth II. There's dozens of other options out there that won't break your bank. Just trying to give you a direction ...

Re: Boss DR-202: any thoughts on it (especially the synth/bass)?
If you only paid $50 for it, you'd probably be better off keeping it. My advice is that if you don't have anything that overlaps the majority of the sounds it provides(liking them helps) then I wouldn't even think of getting rid of it. Don't forget, you could make it a dedicated beat box to be sent ...

Re: heating up
I've shut off my modular/moogerfooger systems for the night, turn them back on the next day and immediately start using them without noticing any changes. All of my stuff is current, I think Xpander hit the nail on the head with it being more of an issue with vintage circuitry.

Re: Doepfer Dark Energy
Putting a frequency shifter in their would double the price. Those modules are not cheap. It would be cool to have though.

Re: Getting into Modular synths
http://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13 This thread is where any modular newb/about to start should look first. I'm also considering going modular. Anyone with experience of building their own case? I know Doepfer offers a DIY case kit and it's a h**l of a lot cheaper than the A100 cases...

Re: New MFB-522 drum machine, now with more cowbell..
I have the 503, and it's a sturdy build for a plastic unit. The pots are a bit jumpy at times, but cheaper pots keep the price down. It sounds amazing though! The 522 sounds pretty damn good really. Curious when it'll be available in the US. And soon the 503 will be mine :smilebox: I have a few MFB...

Suburban Bather is one of the best traders ever. I bought his JoeMeek ThreeQ, he dropped it in the mail before even getting payment. I got it today, well packed and in perfect condition. Thanks again! Got my money order the same day Computer Controlled received the ThreeQ :D Space Boy, thanks for r...

Re: Club of the Knobs
Seems like hit and miss on shipping times. From what I've read on forums, it sure does suck a*s to be on the miss side of reasonable shipping times(you will get your module(s) though. Or depends on wether or not you happen to be ordering while they are in the middle of or just finishing up a run of ...
