Hi Ian,
Great story at least your guys keys were working. Although I just found a
great synth tech in the process. He told me he's repaired about a dozen CS80's and a Korg PS3300 that was actually shipped back and forth from England.

Yes, been playing the mks-70 all night. Very expressive, warm and dare I say phat. The few programming quirks are definately offset by the sound.
These things should be selling for way more than they are currently!

Yesterday was Keyboard Nirvana

Yesterday, I was out and about picking up a few synths I just bought. First, picked up a MKS-70 w/PG800. Was pretty excited getting this and come to find out the person selling was a Synth Tech. He had an unbelievable collection of keys he was working on including a CS80 I've never seen one in perso...

The E-Mu Proteus 2000 synths have a 32 step arpeggiator that is essentially a 32 step sequencer (and if a note is repeated sequentially then it only counts as one step no matter how many times that it is repeated...within certain limits of course). And, you can run a different 32 step arp on each o...

(my absolute fav waldorf). but warm/smooth string/pad aint its thing, at least compared to ones i listed. Just listened to "Rising f...

Funny story I asked at the guitar center in Roseville about the Prophet'08 and the keyboard salesman knew nothing of it. He went on to spout off about someone he knew that had an old Prophet 5 that had to load presets from cassette and how lame that seemed. I just shook my head and could not believe...

Tech in Metro Detroit?

Anyone know a good synth tech in the Metro Detroit area? I'm in Macomb County and need to repair an Oberheim OB-8.
