Re: Anyone here burned out on modern analog?
I can think of a lot of reasons to own more than one modern analog... they all have their own flavor and they all sound pretty rad. They are definitely more accessable than vintage price-wise and also arguably more useful since they have MIDI, and some (like the Bass Station 2) have patch memory. Th...

Re: how many "plug out" synths will roland make before they
Why does anyone care about a TR-707 sound set? It's just a bunch of crappy samples.

Re: Anyone here burned out on modern analog?
I'm confused as to why you say that you're burned out on modern analog, yet praise it... ?
I'm with you in that I hate not having patch memory, and I think that reliable gear is great. I have very little interest in vintage gear anymore due to how much awesome modern stuff is available.

Re: Roland SH-2 Oscillators superior to all the other SH ser
From what I hear, the SH-7 has an all-around 'fuzzier/fizzier' tone to it. Might be true, but I dunno.
maybe the SH-7 is just PHAT, JUICY, CREAMY, RIPPING, SCREAMING ANALOGZZ
*edit: organic, 303 killer

Re: Creamware minimax review... not!
I had a Minimax years ago and I was actually shocked at how good it sounded. I didn't encounter any bugs that I remember though... however, the knobs did have a lot of resistance. At the time I wanted one really bad but now that there's so much cheap analog available I wouldn't really care to own on...

Re: review of repair work - Three Wave Music
It was meant to be a joke, Skunk: hence the laughing emoticon. Missouri was the cheapest I saw when I quickly scanned the map. It could have very well been Kansas or Washington or wherever. Everyone is happy somewhere - you just have to find where that is for you. I know! When I hear of how expensi...

Missouri is no cultural mecca, but it's not the worst place I've lived by far. The cost of living here is so cheap compared to the coasts. Dunno how people can afford to live out there...Blue Monster 65 wrote:I'm not sure the extra 13 bucks is worth it if you have to live in Missouri.

Re: Suggestions regarding good beat production/sampler w/ pa
Your options are pretty slim. If you want a midi sequencer / sampler with pads, you basically have MPC's, ASR-X's, and Roland MV's, and I gotta say that in my honest opinion a MPC is by far the best option. If you want VGA out, just use a damn computer. The MPC 1000 is ridiculously powerful. Yes, th...

Re: Poll: how do you feel about pirated/cracked DAW software
Kinda funny how at one point in time I had a pirated copy of damn near every bit of software that was available at the time, yet today I am 99% hardware-based. Most of the time when I do record, it's straight to tape. I guess that having access to all of that software for free kinda ruined its value...

Re: Roland's greatest synth?
I recently picked up a D-50 and although I do like it, I guess that I'm just not unlocking the secrets of it or using it to its full potential. I've created some patches but they don't sound mind-blowing. I guess I should download some patches from the web to see what this thing is capable of. Haven...

Re: review of repair work - Three Wave Music
Everything from Wine Country is crazy expensive. They ask absolute top dollar for everything, but I guess that's worth it if you want something that is in generally exceptional condition.

Re: Hand clap sound????
Seems to me like it would be far easier to just record real hand claps, overdub and add reverb to taste. Way easier than synthesizing them and likely faster and better-sounding as well.

Re: Synth Spa- Haven't seen my 106 in almost a year...
Qualified and competent synth techs are a dying breed, or electronic repair techs in general. We live in a disposable society now and nobody wants to pay to have things fixed by a professional since it costs a lot of money. If you want audio gear worked on by someone who is talented and knowledgeabl...
