Re: Evil Poly Pad Machine

Attack and Release time are both around 8 seconds. That's plenty of time for most applications. As for the filter stepping: You can use CV to control it. As for the slow envelopes, I'm not so convinced. It may not be a lean mean mono machine but they certainly aren't super sluggish. Well put GuyaGu...

Re: contemplating selling my prophet 600

I have both (nord lead2 though, not 2x). I would keep the Prophet. The nord is great for when you need something to cut in the mix without taking up too much space, but the Prophet has it's own thing going on. If you're going to sell the Prophet, maybe get something other than a nord. It's a fun imm...

Re: MATRIX6R Owners - Do both L and R outputs work by defaul

The behavior of your matrix6 is normal. I'm pretty sure that the only way to use the right output is for splits. I have one in the rack and I only have the left output hooked up. I've been running it that way for years, but if I can dig up my manual I'll double check for you. If you want to do what ...

Re: syncing lfo speed to sequencers tempo

Totally synth dependent. Read the manual, some have "clock sync" and then the "lfo frequency" values become a division of the midi clock rate, others provide a table saying "midi CC this value = this BPM or HZ (which you can convert to bpm". This. Be aware that Logic does not transmit MIDI clock by...

Re: matching track volumes over a collection/album

First ensure that all songs on their own are well mixed. Inspect the mixed down waveform visually for large peaks that stand out. Add compression on the final mix to try to remove these to make the overall volume of the entire track consistent. In the past while mastering my material myself I've ju...

Re: matching track volumes over a collection/album

If you just match the peaks, you will still end up with some fairly large differences in the "percieved volume" between tracks. If you are going to do it yourself, I suggest using the loudest "sounding" tracks as a baseline and adding some compression with a low ratio setting to the other tracks as ...

Moog murf or bass murf?
I know you stated that you don't need it, but I believe they have a model capable of MIDI sync.

Re: Dave Smith MEK discussion

MEK is one of my favorite synths. The jumpy encoders do annoy the s**t out of me though. I really wish they would've used the detented encoders on the MEK like they did on the desktop, but I still love the damn thing. I just assign parameters I want to tweak live to the mod wheel and aftertouch. It ...

Re: Is this Download song a Korg Prophecy preset? (listen)

Indeed they did. They might actually do another tour. Man, I hope so! I would love to see Download live. I've seen Puppy a ton of times (most recently in Chicago for the insolventsee tour), but never Download. The closest I saw to live Download was when Mark Spybey (of Download/ D.V.O.A.) opened fo...
