I realise what bothers me about the song. The 80s imagery clashes weirdly with the 90s sounds, particually the super 90s hip hop drums. I can't tell if it's intentional, but it's annoying and weird. The double time chorus sucks a*s. Q-Tip's parts are awesome. I still have the verse stuck in my head....

Yeah you're right, he just comes off as a bit cheesy in a way that doesn't quite work for me.

Even over here in NZ all the people listing synths on the local trading site copy and paste from VSE. It's funny how much influence those writeups have worldwide
