CZ-3000 Noisy/Staticky Until Warmed-Up?

Hello everyone, I have a quick question about my newly-acquired CZ-3000. I get a rather noisy signal from the output until it's been on for a few minutes... then it clears up just fine. The slider pots for chorus and volume have no effect on this problem. I wouldn't mind doing some minor surgery to ...

Re: Traditional Analog sounds for SY77 SY99

I've owned plenty of digital synths and the only one that sounded more "analog" than the SY77 was the Ensoniq SQ-80. With good programming the SY77 can be very convincing.

Re: How Do I Name a Patch on CZ-3000?

Yikes! Thanks for the info. This is the only synth I've owned with an LCD that didn't allow custom names. As to the trivia question... I know my DX21 allowed custom names and it predated the ESQ-1.

How Do I Name a Patch on CZ-3000?

Forgive me if this is a silly question (I have checked the manual), but how do I give a custom name to a patch I've created on my CZ-3000? I just picked it up yesterday and I am still learning its ins-and-outs.

All I get when I save the patch is:

Re: New Yamaha SY77 Owner - Tact Switches, DeoxIT?

I have some great news! I finally got around to doing the DeoxIT job on my SY77 and it was a success! My buttons not only work like new, but feel better. I doused them pretty well with the DeoxIT spray and worked them well to get the solution into the switch. While I was in there, I cleaned some dus...

Re: New Yamaha SY77 Owner - Tact Switches, DeoxIT?

Thanks for the help. I'll give the buttons some time to break in. This synth looks really great, it's obvious that its troubles are due to lack of use rather than abuse. The floppy drive belt appears to be loose as well. I opened it, cleaned the belt with rubbing alcohol and vacuumed out a few dust ...

New Yamaha SY77 Owner - Tact Switches, DeoxIT?

I just picked up a near-mint SY77 from craigslist. The owner replaced the LCD backlight recently and it is cosmetically excellent. I noticed, however, that some of the buttons (tact switches) need multiple presses to work. In the 3 hours I've been using it, it seems to be improving. The owner said i...

Re: Opinions on the Yamaha SY77/SY99 vs Roland D-50

If I were you, I'd keep the D50 as well as buy a decent FM synth... Hehe, I wish I had that kind of money. I could see getting the rackmount D-550 down the road though. As I understand it, my D-50 can only play one track and one patch at a time using MIDI. Then, I have to painstakingly record track...

Opinions on the Yamaha SY77/SY99 vs Roland D-50

Hi everyone, I'm in need of some advice here. I'll begin with a list of synths I've owned in the past few years: Yamaha DX21 Roland JX-3P Ensoniq SQ-80 Roland D-50 Every year I trade up. I currently own the D-50, and while it's fun to play and sounds fantastic, I enjoy writing songs more than just p...

Re: Roland D-50 Failing Buttons

Thanks for the help. I'm having another issue, the volume slider is cutting out the left channel until it's at 80% or more. Is this also a standard part?

Here are some more to ID, broken down by patch. I wish I could program this beast well enough to make these patches myself but that just isn't the case  1. http://www.zshare.net/audio/721070806b5d2ad8/ 2. http://www.zshare.net/audio/72107161d59b7d1d/ 3. http://www.zshare.net/audio/721072655...

Re: Roland D-50 Failing Buttons

I've seen that type of pushbutton all over the place. What a relief that it's a standard part! Any sites with info on opening the D-50 and getting to these buttons?

Roland D-50 Failing Buttons

Just bought a D-50 today to replace my SQ-80. I love the distinctive sounds and textures. It's in great shape except for some of the buttons require a pretty firm press to register. The "Internal" button is by far the worst. Can these be cleaned or replaced easily? I've read this is a fairly common ...

Six D-50 Patches for ID (Italo Disco)

Here's the deal. Last December I sold my Ensoniq SQ-80 to get something else. I loved the sequencer, the gritty analog sounds, and the intuitive interface but hated the clacky keyboard action and overly-crusty digital PCM samples. I wanted a D-50! I finally tracked one down and I'm making the 400 mi...
