Re: Mackie 8 Bus Noise/Bleed

I've just noticed this on my 4-bus.
Mute, with the hotter channels.

The synth fairy looks like Vince Clark w/ a tutu and wings.. not the most flattering look.

a 16 channel board and a midi patcher? I suppose it all depends on what you mean by "manage". I usually just get really mad at those damn synths, I call the Korg fat, the Yamaha dumb, I smash my beer bottle over the end of the akai and storm out of the room. After 20 minutes, everyone seems to respo...

Here's one in brooklyn. http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/msg/606282434.html There's a couple EPS out there too http://newyork.craigslist.org/search/sss?query=ensoniq It's worth checking out... but heck, the NY/NJ area should be ripe with used gear stores. Here in Denver we have jack, near nothing.....

the asr10 was used by everybody. The rack is nice because it came with 8 outs and scsi standard.. The keyboard is nice because it looks mean on stage. Either way it's a toss up, but make sure whatever you get has the SCSI card istalled.. loading from floppydisk is a cruel joke. If I had the choice, ...

congrats on the nord! Emu samplers are great, I still suggest you consider ensoniq.. I've had both, and I've always liked the 'color' that ensoniq gives to the tone.. also, they have the most pissed off effects. The ASR10 is the mac-daddy of the heap. When I can justify another sampler, I'll be gett...

how good can you scream? Well, I'm not the BEST of screamers, but the type of vocals I was thinking of pursuing lays on the lines of Agonoize, and Grendel. It's kind of like that raspy harsh talking voice kind of thing with nifty effects. good.. good aggro music is about being aggro, not the synths...

Another Inquiry. For harsh aggro, Is it possible to do it with all hardware? Or does software HAVE to be incorporated to produce an authentic sound? hi.. listening to the songs above, I didn't really hear anything that couldn't be made on old school hardware, like an EPS16. I was never in an electr...

The amount of beer I have spilled on my gear is absolutely mindboggling. Through that, my Mackie mixers have gotten the worst of it. In the beginning it was one of the MK1 1202's. After we ran out of ports and we needed a live mixer and a 'nice' board, I got a 2404. (1995)?? They were both quiet, ul...

Thank you for your comments. It's not really done yet. My sequence of work usually is to write a song to about 80-85%, record a rough mix and sit on it.. I'll listen to it in the car, on tape, show to friends.. blah. After I got about 10 songs (or 70 minutes) I'd go back and remix everything, give e...
