Re: Photos of your set-up / studio
Nice studio pics. My studio, not so modern. Most of my instruments are from the pre-MIDI era. My computer, still runs WIN95. Using a few MIDI to CV converters to trigger via a Roland MKB-1000. http://imgur.com/E2Gale6.jpg The far left is a Korg PS-3100 with a modularized 74 Minimoog on top. In the m...

Re: Synthesizers that have a 'Moog-like' sound
http://i61.tinypic.com/r1y05c.jpg For a nice listen, recorded in 2011, a modular Moog multi track holiday tune. Christmas Eve on a 1969 Moog Other than the Emu procussion drum track it is all 1969 R.A.Moog. All tracks straight Moog with only a phase shifter on the first guitar/harpsicord track. Enj...

Re: MKIII Arp Odyssey ever have factory wood sides?
Pretty sure it was the very first Black/Orange ones that had the thin wood sides. I have both an early Black/Orange Axxe and Avatar with those thin wood sides, about the same thickness as the later leather type sides, about 1/16 of an inch thick. Have seen Oddy Mk III with the same wood sides. My la...

Re: do any of you jam with other synth guys?
Guess I'm one of the lucky one's to live in an area with many electronic musicians here in the Philly suburbs. I can't imagine going out and playing solo and never have. I'm more of a collaborator and enjoy the process of blending ideas and jams into finished pieces. Was in a three piece electronic ...

Re: Do people really not like the Micromoog?
The glide section on the CS-15 is more like an auto bend. Seperate up/down ammounts for each oscillator and glide time of the bend. Triggers on each keypress and gives that CS-80 like Yamaha sound to it. The portamento in the L.H. section is like the typical keyboard CV glide. One unique routing is ...

Re: Internal patches for Casio CZ3000 needed
I thought it just duplicated the 32 ROM patches into the 32 RAM slots when initalized on the CZ 3000/5000. The memory on those models is strange as the cart access was by dumping/saving the whole cart to the C or D bank. Unlike the CZ-101/1000 and CZ-1 that could directly access the cart as addition...

Re: What is the sexiest looking synth of all time?
Always liked the looks of the NED Sync II. One single large knob and individual lighted buttons to access every function. This is what the future looked like in the early 80's.

Re: Oberheim Discovery
Discovering an 8 voice polysynth in an attic/loft is quite a find. Usually something like that would be covered in years of dust/dirt. Those photos look like it was never stored away for long? That attic dust gets everywhere, especially after many years of sitting. Never found anything that rare in ...

Re: What Synth has the most Mojo?
How did the Moog come into your hands? Found that Moog on Ebay back in 2007. It was from a zero feedback seller, and I was the only bidder. The opening bid was much less than current 2600 prices and I have seen Minimoogs go for more than what I paid. The seller was a professor at the University of ...

Re: What Synth has the most Mojo?
+1 for the battery operated CZ series! The CZ-101/1000 and even the CZ230S have a special sound, guess you could call it Mojo. There is something unique about the tone, one of my desert island synths. When I think of Mojo though, nothing I have here matches my old 1969 Moog. Still looks great and pl...

Re: Schober Tunesmith
Looks like it was a one note organ that could be ordered as a kit or assembled.

Popular Electronics Schober kits
Nice case and 2-1/2 octave Pratt-Read keyboard, but the tone was probably not high quality?
