32 min EDM excursion

Hey folks. Been a while since I been in here. Bought a ton of gear here from Shaggy and some others in the past. Check this out if you want to hear some of the synths in action. http://soundcloud.com/djpuzzle/progressive-house-mix/ Mostly hardware synths were used. Novation Supernova, Access Virus T...

Re: Beatport Miami Dj Competition Entry

I'm thinking about doing the same thing and using a made-up genre name. I'll give it a listen purely out of respect for the attitude. FYI though, you know it says "at least" five tracks? spammy link to my own mixcloud: spammy link to my own mixcloud yup there are five tracks there. Thanks for liste...

Beatport Miami Dj Competition Entry

Hey guys, This started out as my Mixcloud/Beatport Dj Competition entry but I decided to not follow the rules and use an unreleased deadmau5 tune and four of my own tunes. The reason being was the requirements for this contest were to use songs from Beatport's charts but I did not like this idea. MI...

Re: Casio CZ-101 AC Power

Actually, I've found that the generic wall-warts don't work so well (at least here in the US). You can find ones with the right specs and they will power up okay, but the actual power jack on the CZ is a slightly non-standard size, so the generic power supplies are prone to lose contact or sometime...

Re: Casio CZ-101 AC Power

I found an adjustable wall wart today and it works ok. Set it to 9v and it is 500mA but I think the CZ requires 800mA. There is a problem with the AC input , it's like the connection box is really lose and it's moving around causing it to power off with any sudden movement. Guess I'm back on batteri...

I found this Casio AD-5 but it doesn't list the CZ-101. Any suggestions or any one have one of these for sale?

I tried the demo, but unfortunately it crashed on my linux/wine/reaper setup.

I've been demoing Zebra2 instead though.
I'll have to check it out Zebra2. I still have the Helix installer and the beta runs great on my Mac.

The GUI, however, can use a -lot- of improvement. Time-Level envelopes are for Roland romplers and Alpha Junos, not for VSTs.

looks like a nice educational tool for teens or starters. the 1/8" headphone out and onbord sounds are the deal-killer, though. I'd love to see Yamaha make this with just MIDI up the wazoo....maybe a USB jack to sequence VSTs and simplify data dumps...but LEAVE OUT the shoddy audio implementation -...

I love this synth. Installed it on my Mac and it is an amazing value for the price (free). Are they going to start charging for it?
