JP8000 and NL3 midi sync
I hooked my Nord Lead 3 midi going out into my Roland JP8000. I want to use the NL3's clock to sync with the JP's tempo for simultaneous beats/arpeggiator sequences/LFO sync etc. However, I don't want my Nord's keyboard to control the notes being played on the JP. So the question Is: is there any wa...

I just wanna get a rough idea of how much space I would get. on the RS7000, maximum RAM is 64 mb (32 X 2). when maxed out, the internal 4 mb is disabled. 64 mb will allows a maximum sample length of 32 mb (mono), 64 mb (stereo). max sample time (mono/stereo) 6 min 20 sec at 44.1 khz. Luckily the RS...

on a rompler like the rs7000 or MC 808/909, about how much time of audio sample is 1mb? I just wanna get a rough idea of how much space I would get. So basically I can record external audio samples, edit them and mix them together at varying levels, combined with loops from the device itself, correc...

Noobish question
So, I've got a couple pretty sweet synths-Juno 106, JP 8000, Microkorg and recently a TR 606. I've been playing some cool stuff, but it's all gone the moment I stop playing. What would you recommend for me to start laying down some tracks? I'm on a tight budget (rarely spend more than 500 on an inst...

Thanks for the advice. The MIDI out light blinks when MicroKorg sound editor tries to detect the synth, but the MIDI in light remains unlit. I tried several things, and none of the programs would detect the synth until I reversed the in and out cables. It doesn't make sense, but now it detects the s...

MIDI-USB interface problems
I've never used a computer to edit or control my synths, so I have little knowledge of Midi in general. I got an E-MU XMIDI 1x1 midi-USB interface, and installed the required firmware. I want to use it to edit and save my MicroKorg patches and back up my Juno 106 patches. I have the correct programs...

JP-8000 performance question
Is it possible to save a "patch" with keyboard split, arpeggiator or motion control as a "performance"? It's clear that the Patch and Performance sections are separate...so can I only create new performances by editing old ones, using the "performance" patches? Thanks alot for any help!

Help me figure out what VA synth to get
Alright this is a pretty noobish question, but I need some input into what virtual analog synth to get. Right now all I have is a Juno-106 and MC-505. I want one that is capable of good dance sounds/arpeggiator, but not at all limited to that. Most of my music is dancey funk/jam, or more lo-fi indie...

Backing Up Juno-106 patches?
Hey, I've had my Juno 106 for a few years now, and have made some pretty sweet patches with it. I want to back up my banks, because I know there's a chance I could lose all my sounds. My question is: Can I do it with a normal blank cassette tape and cassette player? Is there any special procedure be...
