Re: the evolver's digital side

there is a waldorf xt on the floor. i know there are a legion of believers in the xt, but mine is on the floor. Always found the Waldorf XT to be a frustrating synth - some days it would sound awesome in a mix then others terrible. I'm glad I owned it as I learnt a lot from using it but for digital...

code green wrote:-any favorites among the waveforms?
I really like the wave sequencing so favourite waveform would have to be 94, the blank one, for the extra rhythmic possibilities it gives.

Re: DSI MoPho

Glide is not possible on the internal sequencer (bummer) Ah well, sort of expected that. Don't know about the Filter bug. Never heard it on either machine. Really? I only really notice it on certain sounds especially if using the Evolver for dark ambient sounds and it's prominent in the mix. They b...

Re: DSI MoPho

I've got an Evolver but I'm seriously thinking of getting a Mopho but would like to ask the people who've got it: - Is glide possible using the sequencer (I'm guessing it's the same as the Evolver so 'no')? - Does it have that small filter bug the Evolver has where a quiet, un-filtered oscilator sou...

Korg ER-1 Why do so many people dislike this unit I wonder? Is there someone here who can say something good about it? Good things to say about the ER1 #512: It's simplicity and ease of use - It really is as far away from a boutique instrument as you can get - everyone's got one (or had one and sol...

Korg ER-1 Why do so many people dislike this unit I wonder? Is there someone here who can say something good about it? I like drum machines with the boom and the bap...not the poof and the fizz. Yeah, I agree really - I think that's the most frustrating thing about the ER1, if the sounds were just ...

Korg ER-1 Why do so many people dislike this unit I wonder? Is there someone here who can say something good about it? I've had a love/hate relationship with my ER1 since I bought it 8 years ago. I'm currently going through a love stage so I'm glad I never sold it. As others have said if you try an...

Re: How do you use your DSI Evolver?

My main complaint isn't the matrix, its the small LED display. When you have a long list of modulation sources and destinations, and every one of them has to be abbreviated to a three character code, that's a slight hangup. True, but it doesn't take long to learn them as they're so straightforward,...

[quote="wilsontherocker"]Effect-wise, I put it in my guitar effects loop and use it as a semi-modular effects device. That's interesting that you use it as a fully fledged guitar fx. Do you use it with a midi foot pedal (like a Behringer Fcb1010) to control it? I'm especially interested in the wah/c...

Re: How do you use your DSI Evolver?

[quote="tyrannosaurus mark"]All you DEVO users out there, how do you use your DEVO? The desktop Evolver is one of the best bits of hardware I've ever bought. I use it for everything, mono-synth/fx unit/drones/noises. Currently I'm using it as a drum-machine (+ loops and basslines) and hope to use it...

Eh? Just discussing it's pro's and con's. I think it looks like a lot of fun.

A big problem for me with these is because you can't save anything it makes it makes it much harder to use as a portable musical sketchpad (like nanoloop/QY's etc). I'm hoping that in version 2 there's at least some saving ability in it. Still looks like a fun device though. The bass player from the...

Re: Downgrading from a Yamaha RS7000 to a RM1x. Opinions?

I've been using an RM1x for years now and also have an RS7000 on extended loan from a friend which I've been using for the last couple of years too. Although the RS has a better sound/sampling etc. I tend to us the RM1x much more for writing on as I don't like having to load off a flash card all the...
