Re: Legalities of using the word MiniMoog

Thanks for the tips guys. I think I'm just going to put a lot of allusions to the Moog but never use the actual name.

Legalities of using the word MiniMoog

Hey all, I am thinking of writing a sample based MiniMoog App for the iPhone. (I think there already is one or two, but just for fun). If I release it in the App Store, what are the legalities behind using the term MiniMoog? I've noticed other sample-based software like Reason never uses the word Mi...

Couldn't wait so I opened it up just to get a glimpse. Wow. Had no idea it was so complex. Makes the mini look simple. And I just have the RME. I'd love to see a schematic. Let me know if you can help out.

Moog Patents

There's a whole list of Moog Patents here: http://www.till.com/articles/moog/patents.html#US03475623 So my understanding is that most of these expire 17 years after the date of issue. Does that mean that theoretically any company could come in and make a MiniMoog copy? I guess this is what Club of t...

I have three of these types. Frostwave Alienator, Alesis Bitrman, and Bugbrand BugCrusher '08. Frostwave I think sounds the best of the bunch, and includes a nice resonant LPF to boot. It does both bit crushing and sample rate frequency reduction at the same time. Filter first, crusher first, filte...

BitCrusher Hardware Effect

Does a BitCrusher effect pedal exist anywhere? I only know of SW effects. I want to know before I make one.

Anyone know how many SIDstations were ever sold?

Anyone know about how many SIDstations were made and sold? Just curious how rare these are. Let me know if you're guessing or if you really know and how you know. Thanks.

Pilot352, I owe you one. You were absolutely right. I'm seeing some unstable waveforms on TP10 which corresponds to one of the voice chips although I'm not sure which one. My service manual is missing the crucial page 14. Does anyone know where I can get the whole service manual? Or know which IC TP...

There are two white connectors (no wires connected) on the module board where one is labeled TP 8-13. Each of these pins corresponds to an output of "the evil ones". If you have access to a scope, these are the points you want to look at. Theres an analog ground located on the opposite end (TOP) la...

If it's all six, I doubt that it's got anything to do with the voice circuits. It's more likely an output problem. Quick test: does it do the same thing on every output? Try the L, R, and headphone jacks. Also twiddle the master volume knob and the H/M/L output switch on the rear panel and see if t...
